The Great Lakes Institute of Management was founded by the Padmashri Awardee, Shri Bala V Balachandran. He was a professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and taught accounting information and management.

The Great Lakes Institute of Management Gurgaon campus started in 2010 and has been excelling in the aspects of batch size, placements, average salary, number of companies visiting, quality of curriculum etc.

Great Lakes Institute of Management offers two courses in management, namely

  1. PGDM – Postgraduate diploma in management – Two-year Full-time MBA
  2. PGPM – Postgraduate program in management – One-year Full-time course

The courses mentioned above are different in the aspects of the eligibility criteria, curriculum and pedagogy. Therefore, aspirants need to be concerned about the same and take the right decisions while choosing the course.

PGDM is a two-year MBA course and is for the candidates with less than 24 months of work experience. Aspirants with more than 24 months of experience can also choose the PGDM course.

The PGPM is a much one year course and is highly apt for candidates with more than 24 months of work experience. The internships, apprenticeships and part-time job experience cannot be considered as work experience to apply for the course.

The candidates can expect to be mid managerial roles after the course. The aspirants who wish to change the sector of work can consider the program.

Great Lakes Gurgaon PGDM and PGPM Eligibility Criteria

Apart from the criteria of work experience, there is a difference in the eligibility criteria for PGPM and PGDM courses.

Great Lakes Admission Important Dates

The admission process at GLIM Gurgaon campus, start very early, around late August every year.

There are two cycles of applications for GLIM PGPM, and therefore the aspirants can choose either the November or January cycle. The detail of both the periods is here.

Great Lakes Admission PGDM 2021 – 2023

The admission process is underway, and the applications for the admission are being accepted. The application forms are being issued from 9th September 2020, and the deadline for submission will be on 22nd November 2020 for Cycle 1.

Great Lakes Admission PGPM 2021 – 2022

The applications for the first cycle and the second cycle of admissions are available. The eligible and interested aspirants have to submit the filled form by 2nd November 2020, which is the deadline for the first cycle of submission.

The deadline for the second cycle of the submissions is yet to be declared. It is recommended to apply during the first cycle so that the subject of interest can be well chosen.

The application form should be complete in all respects, and the eligibility should be checked in detail by downloading the appropriate brochures. Applicants without proper qualification will be barred from further process straight away.

Great Lakes Admission process 2021

The admission process for the PGPM and The PGDM course are different. The difference in the process arises as the aspirants for both of these courses are entirely different. Therefore let us understand the admission processes of both these courses:

GLIM Gurgaon Admission PGPM 2021 – 22

  1. The online application is to be submitted before the deadlines mentioned above. The eligible candidate has to buy the application form online or offline and need to complete the application process on www.greatlakes.edu.in
  2. Candidate can opt to apply for either of the Chennai or Gurgaon Campus. They can also choose Chennai and Gurgaon campuses. For specific college, the application will be separate. The fees for the application process to Great lakes PGPM course is INR 2000/- only.
  3. Based on the candidature and the application forms, the candidates will be invited, and the invite for the personal interview (PI) will be sent.
  4. On the day of the interview, a test comprising before face to face interview will be conducted. The procedure is to know the candidate better.
  5. An offer letter will be sent to the final shortlisted students, and the process is called an admission roll out
  6. The candidate is expected to accept the offer within a stipulated time
  7. The initial payment to secure one’s seat is to be paid, the details of which will be provided in the mail sent by the institute
  8. Based on the interview, counselling and the interest of the candidate the right course will be registered for the student
  9. The orientation and the class commencement are the final steps of the admission process

How is the candidate Gauged?

The candidate is shortlisted based on the following four attributes:

  1. Academic abilities – School, College and University grades and scores are CAT, XAT, CMAT or GMAT
  2. Leadership Potential – Instances where the candidate took up leadership roles at School, College and at work
  3. Integrity and Ethical values – Virtues that define the foundation of the leadership. Instances of the same from School, college or at work
  4. Diversity of experience: How can the candidate be a valuable addition to the present batch of the students? What special is that the candidate can offer to the learning environment?

GLIM Gurgaon Admission PGDM 2021 – 23

The admission process for the course remains the same as of the PGPM, described above here. However, since most of the candidates who apply for this course are less than 24 months experience at work, the attributes on which the candidates are gauged are slightly different. Here are the considerations based on which the candidates are shortlisted:

  1. Academic abilities – School, College and University grades and scores are CAT, XAT, CMAT or GMAT
  2. Rank holders – The course gives preferences to the rank holders over others. The rank can be at the school level or university level
  3. Integrity and Ethical values – The course believes in developing future leaders for the real-time industry across the world. Therefore, candidates with the slightest sense of unethical behaviour will be barred from further process of admission. Plagiarism during the essays is considered an explicit rejection.
  4. Diversity Background: The candidate should be a valuable addition to the batch and should be able to impart his/her knowledge with their fellow mates. At the same, the candidate must be ready to take suggestions and learn from peers.
