IIM Ahmedabad is ranked 1 by NIRF 2020 for its Management course. The institute maintains its legacy in every aspect, be it academics, infrastructure, sports, placements, etc. IIM Ahmedabad also offers support in terms of financial assistance to the students. The scholarships at IIMA are offered by the Alumni, Govt. of India, Industries and Corporations.

Scholarships offered by IIM Ahmedabad

  1. IIMA Special Need Based Scholarships: All the PGP students with the gross annual income below 15,00,000 can apply for this scholarship. The student is given to the student who is most in the need of the financial assistance based on the financial status of the family.
  2. SC/ST Scholarships: All PGP students belonging to the SC/ST category are given INR 150 per month up till 10 months. 
  3. IIMA Exit Scholarships: The Institute provides three kinds of Scholarships under this:
  • Students going for Entrepreneurship: Two students of each batch who have dropped out of placements and go for business setups are awarded INR 30,000 per month for at most 3 consecutive years.
  • Students joining Not for Profit organisation: An assistance of an amount ranging from INR 3 to 4 Lakhs for 3 consecutive years to at the most help them in repaying bank loans they took to pay IIMA fees is given to two students from each batch who join non profit organisation.
  • Students pursuing doctoral degrees: An assistance of an amount ranging from INR 3 to 4 Lakhs for 3 consecutive years who will pursue further studies.

Scholarships offered by Government of India 

  1. SC/ST Scholarships: This is a merit-cum-means scholarship awarded to the meritorious students of SC/ST category whose family income is less than 4,50,000 p.a. 
  2. Minority Welfare Scholarship: This is a merit-cum-means scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs to the meritorious students of minority category whose family income is less than 2,50,000 p.a. 
  3. Scholarships for Students with Disabilities: This is a merit-cum-means scholarship awarded to the DA/PWD meritorious students whose family income is less than 6,00,000 p.a.

Scholarships offered by Alumni 

  1. PGP Alumni Endowment Funds: The fund is used for the students who have applied for the Special Need Based Scholarship and give consent to contribute to this endowment fund after passing out from the institute will be an assistance of around INR 2,00,000 to INR 3,00,000. 
  2. Class of PGP 2001, Peri Viswanath Scholarship: The batchmates of Mr. Peri Viswanath who died in a car accident gives a merit-cum-means based scholarship of INR 2,00,000 in the memory of their friend to a student of PGP. It is expected that the selected student would in the future contribute to this scholarship fund. 
  3. Shri GC Mital Entrepreneurship Aid: A student pursuing PGP and wanting to start his own venture is awarded INR 2,00,000 every year. The amount is given to the selected student on the day of convocation. 
  4. Smt. J Nagamma Memorial Award: An award of INR 15,000 is awarded to a student on the basis of his academic performance in the first year. 

Scholarships offered by Industries/Corporations 

  1. Aditya Birla Group Scholarships: The scholarship of INR 175,000 per student per year is awarded by the Aditya Birla Group to three meritorious students of PGP. 
  2. Dunia Scholarships for scholastic excellence: Two scholarships each to PGP-I and PGP-II of INR 1,00,000 is awarded by Dunia Finance LLC, Dubai, UAE. 
  3. OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship: An amount of INR 1,50,000 is awarded to the PGP students by OP Jindal Group on the basis of academic performance, online test and personal interview. 
  4. T. Thomas Scholarship: A merit-cum-means based scholarship worth INR 1,00,000 is awarded by Hindustan Unilever Ltd. to a second year student. 

General Conditions for the Award of all Scholarships/Financial Aid

  • Students will not be eligible for any scholarship or financial aid if he has violated any norms or is guilty of any misconduct. 
  • The Aid Committee may allot some score or grades for the students for their eligibility for scholarships.
  • A student can accept more than one scholarship if there is no objection from sponsors.
  • A student is required to inform the Admission Office immediately if he receives any financial aid from outside the institute. 
  • The decision of the Financial Aid and Awards Committee will be final in case of any discrepancy or confusion.

How to Apply?

  • The students shall apply on the official website www.scholarships.gov.in or https://www.iima.ac.in/ respectively for the scholarships offered by the Government or the Institute. 
  • Fill in the application form and Attach the following documents along with the application form-
  1.  Scanned copy of passport size color photograph along with digital signature
  2. The scanned copies of the original certificates and documents required in the particular scholarship. 
  3. Upload the digital copy of the signature and submit the form along with all the required details. 
  4. Note the temporary/permanent ID after applying for future reference.
