The Academic and the Administrative Blocks are located side by side. Each block can accommodate four large lecture halls and several classrooms. All the classrooms are air-conditioned and are equipped with audio-visual and multimedia capabilities. New academic blocks were set up in 2000 and 2011.
Library
Named after Dr BC Roy – the first Chief Minister of West Bengal, the IIM-C was founded with a grant from the Ford Foundation. The library houses 1,60,000 volumes along with the hundreds of business journals that it subscribes to. Their online database contains 40,000 full-text journals.
Auditorium
Equipped with the latest in professional audio and visual equipment and fully air-conditioned, the IIM-C Auditorium was built to seat nearly 750 people and cost about USD 1.3 million.
Financial Research and Trading Lab
Founded in 2008, the Financial Research and Trading Lab at IIM-C gives the students and faculty members the opportunity to test the theoretical financial models with “live” information being fed from some of the major markets of the world. These include India’s National Stock Exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange and Bloomberg.
Hostels and Accommodation
IIM-C has four main hostel blocks for students pursuing the PGDM, PGDBA and Fellowship programmes. Students who have families are offered separate family accommodation. The PG Programme students only have provisions for single boarding accommodation. PGPEX and FPM students are preferred during hostel allotment.
The Tata Hall serves as the institute’s guest accommodation. A new campus was founded in 2011 with two large houses that have provisions for the single accommodation of 175 students.
