Facilities at IIT Guwahati

IIT Guwahati is spread across 703 acres of beautiful green land on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. On campus, the college provides the following facilities and amenities to students:

• Hostel: There are separate hostels for male and female students who want to use the hostel facilities. Each student has their own room, which is well-built and has internet access. Indoor games and a gymnasium are also available at the hostel. Basketball, volleyball, and football are examples of outdoor sports. To meet the needs of students in the hostel, a 24-hour canteen is available. There are also flats for married students.
• Shopping complex: A commercial shopping complex is available to campus residents to meet their daily needs, where they can purchase a variety of essential commodities.
• Sports: Gymkhana is in charge of the campus’s sports and recreational facilities. Students have access to a variety of musical instruments, outdoor and indoor sports activities, and a 50-meter swimming pool.
• Medical facility: The institute has a hospital with 30 beds and hospital staff to handle medical emergencies and provide assistance.

Hostel at IIT Guwahati

The hostels at IIT Guwahati are named after rivers and tributaries in North East India. Manas, Dihing, Kapili, Siang, Kameng, Barak, Subansiri, Umiam, Dibang, Brahmaputra, Dhansiri, Lohit, and Disang are some of the hostel names. The hostels include a fan, a chair, a table, and a cot. Every hostel has a mess, a canteen, a juice centre, a stationery shop, a library, a TV room, a sports room (for indoor sports), and laundry facilities.
