IIT Madras Courses

IIT Madras offers over 100 courses at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research levels. Engineering, sciences, humanities, and management courses are among those available. National-level exam scores, such as JEE Advanced, GATE, and IIT JAM, are used to determine admission to these courses. A summary of the programmes and their eligibility is provided below:

IIT Madras BTech

The BTech program at IIT Madras has been ranked first by the NIRF. The program is divided into nine streams. The IIT Madras BTech program has a total intake capacity of 877 seats. The program costs INR 1,00,550 per semester. The BTech program provides an excellent return on investment. In the placement process, students receive an average salary package of INR 20 LPA for the fee of INR 8.08 Lacs for the entire program. CSE is the most popular branch of the BTech program.

The IIT Madras CSE has the highest cutoff of any stream. In the JEE Advanced exam, the cutoff rank for the course is 85-163. The CSE branch has an 84 percent placement rate. CSE students receive a higher salary package of INR 70 LPA, an average salary package of INR 25 LPA, and the lowest salary package of INR 9 LPA. IIT Madras MTech

The 2-year MTech program at IIT Madras is specialized in 35 fields. Admission to the M.Tech program is based on GATE scores ranging from 500 to 700, followed by a written exam and a personal interview conducted by the institute. IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are also eligible to apply without GATE scores. The total program fee is INR 4.18 Lacs, and students’ salary packages typically range between INR 50-60 LPA. GATE 2022 results were released on March 16 for candidates applying through GATE exam scores. Along with the results, the authority has also announced the GATE 2022 cut-off marks. Candidates who pass the GATE exam are eligible to participate in the IIT Counselling process. COAP 2022 registration has already begun as of March 2022.

IIT Madras PhD

The Ph.D. program at IIT Madras is a five-year program that is currently offered in five departments: engineering, science, humanities, social sciences, and management. Candidates with 60 percent aggregate marks, a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and a valid GATE or UGC-JRF/NET/CSIR-JRF score can apply for admission to the research program. Candidates with a master’s degree from an IIT and a CGPA of 8.0 or higher can apply for admission directly. However, the final selection of a candidate for the program is made only after the institute conducts an interview round.

IIT Madras Online Courses

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has developed an alternative to online degrees. Students can study for an undergraduate degree or diploma anywhere in India using the substitute. The program has no age or academic background restrictions. The IIT Madras Online Courses/ Degree programs include Foundation + Diploma in Programming or Foundation + Diploma in Data Science, as well as B.Sc. in data science and programming The basic eligibility criteria for these programs require a student to have studied Mathematics and English in high school and to have previously/currently enrolled in any of the bachelor’s degree programs or diplomas.

Students who are interested in online courses can enroll in either the regular mode or the diploma-only mode. Regular registration students must begin at the Foundation level, which consists of eight courses. Students who register for the Diploma Only Entry cannot transfer their diploma to the BSc degree.
