Online Courses at NIT Rourkela 2022

NIT Rourkela has partnered with Edureka, an online education platform, to offer online courses. For graduates and programming enthusiasts, the platform provides online certification programmes. Graduates with bachelor’s degrees such as BCA, MCA, BSc, BE/BTech who studied PCM in 10+2 are eligible to apply for online certificate courses. Currently, the institute offers two 9-month certificate courses: the Online PG Certificate Program in Big Data Engineering and the Online Advanced Executive Program in Cyber Security. The NIT Rourkela online courses cost between INR 2.07 lakhs and INR 2.47 lakhs.

BTech Program at NIT

The NIRF 2021 list places NIT Rourkela BTech at number 20 in the engineering category. The programme allows for dual-degree conversion and lateral entry admission. NIT Rourkela graduates can switch to a dual-degree programme by enrolling in the MTech programme after the seventh semester. Furthermore, the BTech programme costs INR 8.22 lakhs at the institute. Among popular courses, BTech CSE has the highest package of INR 45 LPA.

PhD at NIT Rourkela

NIT Rourkela provides PhD programmes in Engineering, Science, Management, Planning and Architecture, Humanities and Social Sciences. The course can be completed in 3-4 years on a regular basis, but it can be extended to 5-6 years on a part-time basis. Candidates must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline to be eligible for admission to the PhD programme at NIT Rourkela.

Admission to the programme is based on GATE/CEED scores, followed by performance in the personal interview. For candidates who do not have GATE/CEED scores, the institute may administer a written exam. For its Ph.D. programme, the institute charges a total fee of approximately INR 2.96 Lakhs.
