MAT 2022 Syllabus
MAT commonly abbreviated as Management Aptitude Test is an entrance test conducted in India since 1998. The All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts the entrance test. The candidates after cracking the exam are eligible to get admission into various management colleges. They can also enter some of the unified projects which are initiatives of some of the top business colleges all over India.
The exam is known to have an accreditation by the Ministry of Human Resource Development since 2003. It is conducted at different points of time throughout the year.
Examinees are allowed to opt either of the two modes of examination i.e. computer based test and the paper based test whose mode of instruction can be selected by the applicants. They can choose to give the exam either in Hindi or English. Graduates as well as the final year students from any discipline can wish to opt for the exam, provided that the final year students show the certificate of completion at the time of admission.
The application fees range from INR 1500 to INR 2600 depending upon the mode of examination selected for the test. The test scores of MAT have a validity period of one year after the publication of results.
The test consists of 200 questions and 5 sections. Each section contains a total of 40 questions.The duration of time is 150 minutes. The questions are asked from a plethora of topics like Verbal ability, Data interpretation and adequacy, Logical reasoning, General knowledge & basic thinking and matters of Indian and world affairs.

The sectional subdivision in the MAT examination schedule makes it a test concerned about eight subject areas.
- The first section of language comprehension is divided into two sections: verbal ability and reading comprehension.
- The second section of Intelligence and Critical Reasoning consists of two divided sections: various kinds of thinking questions.
- The third section for Data analysis and data adequacy comprises two sections consisting of questions from the topics data analysis and data adequacy.
