Admission Process
All the applicants are admitted to the university courses based on the marks scored in their qualifying degree, entrance examination or admission tests. Candidates need to score above a specified mark in these exams to get admitted to a particular course or discipline.
The entrance exams include CAT (Common Admission Test), MAT (Management Aptitude Test), CMAT (Common Management Admission Test), GPAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), SLET (State Level Eligibility Test), CUSAT (Chandigarh University Scholarship Admission Test), JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination - Main), NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), NET (National Eligibility Test), GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) etc. Chandigarh University admission details are enlisted on its website.

- Admission to the M.E programme is based on the marks obtained in the GATE exam.
- For the ME, M.Sc, LL.M, MCA, M.Com and MA courses, admission is based on performance in CU-PG-Entrance Test.
- For the B.E degree, students are shortlisted on the basis of their All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main depending on the marks obtained in the exam. B.Arch candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in JEE Main (Paper-II) or NATA.
- For the MBA course, admission is based on performance in CAT, MAT, CMAT or CSAT exam.
- For the PhD admissions, candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in CU-PhD Entrance Test. CSIR NET, UGC NET, GATE, GPAT or SLET qualified candidates do not have to sit for the entrance test.

Results and Cut-off
Chandigarh University cutoff list is declared for its several courses and degrees once the results of their respective entrance examinations are calculated. The candidates need to obtain a score which is equal to or more than the cut-off mark specified by the university to get admitted to their desired courses.
For example, ME aspirants need to clear the GATE Cut Off, BE students need to cross the JEE Main cut-offs, PhD aspirants need to clear the CU-PhD Entrance Test Cut Off (also CSIR NET, UGC NET, GATE, GPAT or SLET cut-offs), B.Arch candidates need to clear the NATA cut-offs and MBA candidates need to clear the CAT, MAT or CMAT cut-offs. The cut-offs are relaxed for reserved candidates like SCs, STs and OBCs.
Alumni Network
Chandigarh University has an Alumni Association that takes care of matters regarding the alumni members of the institute. There are many events held throughout the year by the Alumni Association on the campus. There is a Reunion Fund, which is managed by the alumni members of the university and the fund is used to give scholarships to the meritorious students.

The university provides hostel or lodging provisions for both boys and girls. All the rooms in the hostels are equipped with basic facilities and amenities like common room, recreation room, salon, gym, water purifiers, TV, mess, laundry services, security, and surveillance system etc.
