U posted something abt education loan from UBI, they give a relaxed interest rate for admission in to BIM. Right nw I m unable to find that post from the thread... Do they have this norm for all their branches in India or just the local branch....?? i.e. If I apply here, in Orissa, do they consider the special privilege for BIM or I will hav to apply only in Trichy....? Because here the bank officials dont know about BIM... Is this offer is in their bank record....? plz clarify... Thank You...
Yes, It is applicable all over India so you can apply anywhere. They hv list of colleges for which 'Excel Education Loan' scheme is applicable. So ask the bank official to check that list.
I need to know about the internet facilities available in the BIM Hostel. Are we having the internet connectivity being given to hostelites out there in rooms (either LAN or WiFi) ?
Yes, 24 hours Internet facility is available in hostel rooms in both the forms -LAN and Wi-Fi. You can surf in Mess and class rooms also thru Wi-Fi. Apart from this we have separate computer centre where close to 40 systems are conncted in LAN. You can access internet from those systems also if in case any issue in hostel net/laptop prob/during any other emergency.

I/my family do not have any property as a security for loan. Will UBI/any bank in campus gives loan with out any security under this scheme/any other scheme. I need to have loan for full amount which will be around 6L (i suppose). Please clarify this issue.
if i dont get loan, i can not join college even i convert my WL.

SAME IS MY CASE TOO,.,.COVERTED TAPMI BUT COUDN'T JOIN AS NO BANK AVAILED ME 3 LAKH RUPEES AT SUCH A SHORT NOTICE.I.,if i will earn enough amount of money na , i will finance atleast a couple of guy for the college i missed.but i don't want to wish another chance,i have already arranged for 50000 rupees.

acc to BIM website SBI ans Indian bank offer loans for BIM students...i checked out sbi website..the details were clear enuf
and i think this sbi bank loan is without collateral.... seniors pls enlighten us on this..... n how many days ll it take to get the first portion of amount ?
Step 3 isnt required for waitlisted candidates. The important dates are: May 19th- Deadline for the willingness email to reach BIM. May 21st- Deadline for the DD and a printed letter covering details like Application Number, CAT ID etc to reach BIM.

No doubt BIM is one of the top notch Institutes in management education in India, so as TAPMI vth better infrastructure but less avg package than BIM.... But the above survey is just a rubbish.... It's having LBSIM below some of the colgs those are having very low profile in almost every field... interestingly Welingkar has been ranked at 4 over NIRMA,TAPMI & shockingly IMI....FORE has been placed at 34 below some institutes those I am sure no one us here wdnt hav heard about.... This's a joke nothing else.......... I wd suggest puys to avoid these baised surveys vch are money oriented & certainly deceiving.... Follow some rankings like those of TIME , Career launcher etc. ... you can also cunsult their official guides to take the right decision...

@sunku47 and @partha, I have enquired here in UBI about the education loan(Excel education loan). they are giving it at 8.5% ROI till 4 lacs and arnd 9% ROI till 7.5 lacs.. The collateral thing is not needed tjough it completely depend on the Branch manager. It is also available all over india i suppose. Hi partha i will be also enquiring it in orissa.

In United Bank of India website, they hv mentioned abt excel education loan and its interest rate. You just check in your nearest branch about this scheme. Regarding the loan for 6L, if you/family dont hv any property/asset to mortgage then bank officials will ask for third party security. But loans upto 4 Lacs can be availed without any security or mortgage.

BIM Trichy is definitely a very good institute for management studies, no doubt on that. But as an institute BIM definitely comes after TAPMI. Some of my fello puys commented that BIM is better. There is no reason I can go with them. Even Pagalguy Have ranked TAPMI as 28 and BIM at 40. If these two institute were comparable then there is no reason there would have been so much difference in their rankings. And, I don't think Only Location can make such a difference.
