Guys..
Seeing the immense reply from the seniors, proves the point.. I think the guy who created this has vanished!!
There is no point beating around the useless false perception of a frustrated person.
Hi Seniors,
Can you let us know what is the procedure for the selection process, the documents which we need to carry. what are the specialisation available etc.
These would be of much help!!
Thanks in Advance.
SENIORS PLZ HELP
I HAVE MY GD PI ON 22ND APRIL
WHILE RESERVING THE SEAT THROUGH IRCTC , I FOUND A NUMBER OF CHENNAI STATIONS ,I MEAN CHENNAI CENTRAL,.,.,AND GOD KNOWS A MANY ELSE,.,..,.,WHICH OF THE CHENNAI STATION IS NEAR TO IFMR.
For all those who are going to come to IFMR from outside chennai
First Reach CHENNAI CENTRAL
Then take a local train from PARK STATION(opp to central, you need to cross through the subway) to NUNGAMBAKKAM
This venue is near from Nungambakkam railway station.(10-15 min by walk) You could prefer Auto(in that case auto fair would be Rs.25-30)
Refer attached doc for route

Hi all aspirants
First of all congratulations to all of you to have got shortlisted for admission to BIM.
there has been a lot of discussion going around issues in BIM..
I would like to throw light on what happens out here..
1. Favouritism ? Common guys ..
I am from GOA I am not a South Indian..and I am the Class Representative of my section
The other Class representative is Ankit Bhargava a dude from Rae Bareily.Uttar Pradesh again not a South Indian.
Failing and low CGPA's are directly related to performance of the student..
I have never failed and my CGPA is pretty decent.
2. There has been no issue of college building and this college has been functioning in the same BHEL campus for the last 26 years..
The mess food is decent. The issue is when you start comparing to home made food.. Compare it with other college mess food and i would say its much better..Good representation of North Indian Dishes..
3 About Faculty we have some of the best faculty in here..Two of our faculty have received the prestigious Dewang Mehta Best Faculty award in Finance and HR last year. Professor Venkatesh Athreya is the best person you can have in Economics.
4. The issues of arrears and placements are personal. Directly related to the performance of individual student. The issue raised earlier i think is out of sheer frustration..
5. The BIM Bangalore program has been suspended and there is no issue of funds being transferred etc..
6. I think all Indians are welcome to BIM we have a very good rapport with everybody out here..we celebrate HOLI, MATKA PHOD, GANESH Chaturthi Diwali with the same enthusiasm as Pongal and Ugadi.
I have seen many places in India have more than 4 years experience in the corporate world in Ahmedabad Kolkata Mumbai Jamshedpur..
Studied in NIT Rourkela.
I have never felt left out or an outsider to this place.
Its more of how you approach and what your attitude is.
So all my friends from all parts of India we are having a very good time out here.
Instead of discussing some non issues arising out of frustrations of somebody let us focus on the GD PI process..The purpose of this thread is about letting you guys know about the GD PI process and any issues you have regarding that.
Let me know if you have any queries regarding GDPI or you can call the admissions office directly at 0431-2520502 and 0431-2520796 and speak to Geetha Madam regarding requests for change of dates..
If any of you guys want to speak to me on GD PI issues pls send me a PM.
Ill let you know my Email id and phone number.
Regards
Abhinav Apte

Hi,
You will receive letter explaining the process and about the document that you should bring. There will be Group discussion and personal interview. All the best!
Hii Parth....
Firstly I am from west bengal and been in BIM for 2 years, and I can assure you still its one of the best palce to do MBA in the country, coming to the reply by the so called 'nityanad', (who doesnt have the courage to post his true name) don't go by them.
After two years i don't regret my decision to do a MBA from BIM. every institute has some issues to sort out and BIM is no exception. If a institute has no scope for improvement then it is not growing, fortunately if you join the institute you will notice the changes for the future.
The teacher student relation out here is quite friendly, and BIM assures you the best quality faculty be it in Finance, marketing , HR or IT..
Coming to performance in exams that depends on how much effort one puts here, the instances of north Indians being failed is total rubbish, I havne't found any such discrimination from the teachers....
coming to the placements and another question mark of discrimination that recruiters opting for south Indians over north is also baseless... i can give you numerous examples where the people from north were more satisfied with their placements then others....... so north south is not at all an issue.. .
I would always suggest anyone from North to do MBA from BIM as it will be all together a different experience and a unique learning experience for a promising career.
naresh.swarnkar SaysI looked in the brochure about company visited the campus for placement and what I found is that BHEL is not one of them. Seniors, can you explain it please ? Why BHEL didn't come even BIM is running at BHEL complex itself ?
Hi,
BHEL have an national wide recruitment policy. If any one need to join BHEL they have to go through the process. It is not like private companies coming for placement process to the campus. But there are few students who are placed in BHEL for their summer internship. And we also get the opprtunity to visit BHEL. In the first year, operations paper are taught to us by very senior managers from BHEL. The relationship we have with BHEL is very positive and have been for 25 long years.

Hi Seniors,
The placement report for 2010 is not out yet? Batch 25 placement report is old.
Please throw some light about the courses offered, I am interested in Operations, but the % of people opting for operations is around 3%. Why is the ratio so low?
Shortlisted for GD/PI
24th @ IFMR

Cruisader.
