bro.. sorry to sound lil harsh, but u r not gonna get any conclusive answer to such an open ended qs like tat.. do wanna have a poll or something!!:sneaky:
buddy enuf opinions have been put across past pages about bio sketch/profile.. at the end of the day its your call what u wanna do..
bottomline- enuf info is posted by many .. read them and take ur decision.. which is both inescapable and crucial compared to cluttering the thread.
its an unsolicited advice, written in best interests.. groan or thank..ur call buddy..

Prof. Anusha discussed at length (Almost 1Hr) about WHAT TISS is looking for in a candidate...
It involved gyaan on different programmes of TISS as well.
On how TISS looks for a certain personality type in an individual. The socio-cultural and economic sensitivity of a person is gauged by the panel.
As most of you already know, people can speak in Hindi in the GD/PI at TISS. The institute follows a very inclusive policy, that does not discourage students with even 40% in Graduation provided they are the right fit for the course. So please all you oxford-bred firangs, please dont make faces at a poor vernacular medium guy speaking in Hindi/ marathi..
they will screrw your happiness.
Plus the panel has a psychologist to ensure that no one is bluffing the panel. And morteover, even if someone does manage to get in, you wont survive in the environment which focusses on developing the downtrodden.
So the ones expecting A/C classrooms and blazer wala uniform, TISS is not the place for you. You also have credits for actual social-work. YOu may have to do some field work, work with slum children/ the deprived etc. and be prepared for the same.
TISS is not looking for people who are after fat paychecks. the Phunsukh Wangdu principle is paramount here: Strive for excellence, economic superiority follows!
Pointers:
1. show sensitivity towards poor. (Dont fake it)
2. show sensitivity for caste based reservation (DONT FAKE IT)
3. have a genuine interest/ passion for the subject (Needless to say!!)
4. be prepared for an interview which focusses largely on YOU and YOUR introspection rather than Thermodynamics or 14 principles of Fayol.
5. read up on HR.
i feel bio n profile r same.

What we think is not important. But what YOU think certainly is.
If you feel its the same thing, dont send it. But if you feel the need to, please go ahead.

This topic has been done to death already!!
seriously guys, do what you deem is best.
hey akshay and other puys...
any idea abt what is number of calls they v given for HR course..Also will we be getting score card ..if yes any tentative timelines..
Any Seniors please help in the discussion of Bio sketch and profile.
I m still confused what to do.
To be on the safer side send both bio sketch and profile. As a candidate, its better to be safe than sorry when it comes to documents.

thanks sir
Hey puys in the DAF there is question number 17 which says
Mention any work done by you relevant to the field(s) of study selected by you.
Does it mean in the field of HR or the graduation stream?
Biographical sketch has to be hand written ..or print out will work...
wat do u all say puys...
also about why this course....
will print out work or hand written..
wat r u all doing
If that was a source of concern, then it would have been mentioned..
im sending a hand written one...

The data isnt out yet buddy, but assuming a 1:7 ratio, id say 59X7= 413 calls.
I heard a last years reject say that the score cards were never released. (Not confirmed information, just hearsay). but since the brohure says we will get all information, we could hope it would be out before GD/PI.
Anyways TISS gives same weightage to Written and PI (70 marks) so lets focus on that now.

Obviously HR stream. "Work" obviously means "employment" or "job" right??

What you people are doing??? Make it fast... The Speed post is not going to be rocket or jet post..
It seems so many are taking chances with the deadline. Not good.:nono:
Hi guys if u hv any confusion regarding Bio-Sketch & profile
then u can mail (or ask directly) to tiss.

wat r u all doing
since the application will hand written i think its better if u write the sketch and y hr thing also hand wirtten
Gud..i think you are right...
Although my handwriting is not so good...
still i wil go for handwritten ..and i will try my best for it being readable easily...
i think its better not to go for print out !!
any particular reason why not printout? :lookround:
just to point out the thing that though entire form is to be filled with pen, 'extra sheets' are asked for the imp things like why hr, bio sketch and profile... so printouts wud be attached with the rest of the filled out form..
hey bangalore puys lets finalise our date and location for the meet up.As one suggested of next sunday,i think the coming saturday or sunday would be fine with a time which is conducive to all.please drop in ur suggestions so we can finalise it as early as possible.das
