I have converted SIBM(after getting a reject initially). I have already converted NMIMS, but I am leaning towards SIBM. I just needed a few doubts cleared before making a final decision: 1. How important is the pre-induction module? Will it put those who haven't gone through it at a disadvantage? 2.I'm hearing some murmurs of hostel facility not being provided to the latest converts. I believe these are just rumours but it'll be good if some senior came out to quash them. 3.I'm gonna be missing my first week, because I'm working and have already confirmed my resignation date. Hope the first week is just orientation and no course work.
hi bro, Let me try to answer ur queries.. First of all,I too had converted NMIMS..CORE(Rank-153)..But is joining SIBM..converted on 8th may.. Pre induction material is important..bt those who have not done it will not be at any disadvantageous situation.....Bczz dat material will be taught fr d first month..and then a test will be conducted on that..So leave those worries aside..and enjoy the converts:-)
2.Regarding hostel...Please wait fr atleast a day or two regarding this..We all will get a confirmation on it tomorrow by the seniors//
3.Many like you would not be joining the colg..in d first week or even second week..bczz of college exams..or work pressure etc.. And the first week is fr pre induction..So need not worry again..So just keep ur worries aside..and take ur final call.. Cheers:-)
I heard that there are certain directives being given in the OnBoarD forum on FB.... Please follow that for the time being... Am sure this case will be addressed by the proper authorities when it is brought to their notice...

Even i have deposited the fees yesterday and got the confirmation. But i haven't received the pre induction material password or anything till now!

Those who have converted late, and haven't been added in the Facebook forum, you could PM me for any sort of updates. A consolidated list of those who converted is sent to the ART members, who then go on to confirm your group request. The list will be sent only in batches. So only when most of the late converts confirm their admissions and pay their fees, the list is sent. If you have any sort of queries, kindly PM me.
Also, there's hardly a week to ten days left before everyone travels to Pune. Arrangements and exceptions will be made for those who haven't received the pre-induction material. So don't be bothered much by your pre-induction materials and credentials.

Check your spam folder. I got the letter and later saw the mail in spam folder
I sent a request for my admission to be cancelled on the 1st of april, till now i haven't received any sort of intimation from SIBM I still have no clue if my admission has been cancelled or not?? all i receive is constant reminders to solve the pre-induction material

I requested for a transfer and migration certificate from my university and got the following reply.
"DA-IICT does not issue any migration/transfer certificate. However a NOC can be issued to you. Charges for the certificate are Rs. 20 per copy. Courier charges are Rs. 100."
Anyone else facing a similar problem. I asked the SIBM admissions office and they said migration certificate was required.
1) DO we have to chose our specialization in 35-40 days post joining the college? 2) After we chose a specialization , are we solely taught that specialization or is there a concept of dual specialization or minor / major specialization?
1) Yes you HAVE to choose your desired specialization by 45-50 days post commencement of the course 2) Though there is no concept of a dual specialisation at SIBM Pune, 1st sem will have 7 common subjects and 2 specialisation subjects, 2nd sem will have 6 common subjects and 3 specialisation subjects and from second year ALL BUT A COUPLE will be specialisation subjects. Plus from 2nd year onwards you get to choose electives from other specialisations if something of that nature attracts your attention during the course and you want to pursue it further.

Both is 3rd and 4th sem, you will be asked to choose 2 electives each... 3rd sem electives might be from other specialisations and 4th sem ones might or might not be (language studies also included)... 3rd and 4th sem will have around 11 subjects each with around 7 specialisation subjects, 2 common subjects and 2 electives...
You will be asked to choose 2 electives in each of the above semesters...
I have been to SIBM and spoken to both the Director as well as the Registrar about the accomodation. This is a one off issue , arising due to the lesser no. of girls in this batch than previous batches. Because of this the boys hostel is proving inadequate to accomodate all the joinees. The Director-Vivek Sane has assured that they are doing all they can to work their way around the problem. As the seniors are currently doing their internships, there will be enough space till June end, till when the authorities are sure that they will be able to find a workable solution. The options being considered now are, appropriating space from sister SIU hostels, or renting flats in the nearest suburb(sus road, 10 mins from the college by vehicle)
@amitrathi42 Both are more or less the same. SIOM is a focus course so the knowledge coverage will be better. SIOM gives support for CPIM/CSCP certifications, which in themselves are considered as valuable as MBA degrees. SIOM has a batch strength of 120 students. On the other hand its in Nashik, which is kind of an out of the way location. SIBM will have about 20-30 ops students, meaning lesser competition in the college. Pune is home to some of the better manufacturing and IT companies, making the chances of securing your desired profile during internships and final placements(if thats your goal) better.
