Dear Sir, I need your input on employment details. I have been working with one organisation but received multiple promotions during my tenure. Shall this be listed as one employment information or I can split it into number of positions I had in the organisation?
Hello Sir..Till what date can one expect interview calls if one has chosen hyd (hyd) as the centre. I see lot of people saying that most of the last week is generally dedicated to re-applicants.. Appreciate if you can give some clarity. Thanks SUDHIR
Interviews shall continue until mid Nov for R1 applicants. There is no dedication for reapplicants to the beginning or end - applicants are invited to interview as their application has been comprehensively reviewed. This may vary per application due to the emphasis placed on several qualitative attributes of each applicant.
Hello Sir,I have one query regarding the GMAT score. Does ISB gives any preference to someone who has taken the GMAT recently or is there no such preference for more than an year old GMAT score ?
No such preferences are used. As long as you have taken your GMAT within last 5 years and it is a valid score, your scores are as valid - no more and no less - than any other applicant with a valid GMAT score.
Is there any pattern that ISB follows to invite people for the interview other than the location criterion? Are the invites sent out in the order of when they were submitted? Or are people called in order of their industry background (first IT, then banking etc.)? Or is it all random?
Each application is comprehensively and carefully reviewed and as this review is completed they are invited to interview if shortlisted. Due to the emphasis we place on understanding certain qualitative attributes of each applicant through your essays, video essay and other descriptive sections of the application, interview calls do not necessarily follow any pattern or sequence.
Hello Sir,I have one query regarding relationship with Applicant. I have added my Senior Manager as one of the Evaluator and chosen Supervisor as the Relationship with the Applicant as I could not find anything which says Manager in the drop down. Please let me know if its correct? Thanks
Please use either Senior Colleague or Supervisor as you see best fits the professional relationship you have with the Senior Manager.
Dear SirWhere do we mention certifications in the application i.e. in awards or work related achievements? I have certificate in project management and I am not sure where to mention it?
Please use the Professional Education or Additional Education sections for telling us about your project mgmt certification.
Where can I get information about career prospects after MBA.. particularly in operations management? What are the job profiles offered and which companies come for campus recruitment for operations?
@ISB.Admissions Dear Sir, you have mentioned above that each position held in a company should be listed separately. However, when I had contacted the admissions office, I was advised that I should use the essays to describe career progression. I wanted to check with you if this could impact my application/selection. Please advise. Thank you.

Please list each position separately in the Employment Details section. If you would like to highlight your career progression, and the reasons why you were promoted, please use the 1st or 3rd essay, as you see fit, to elaborate.
Dear ISB Team, Have the invites for Delhi Interviews started? And also does the status change from complete in the application portal for those who are not invited?
Dear ISB team; I wanted to apply for ISB but have some query related to work-ex. I am working as Operation and Electrical Maintenance Engineer for Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. Don't have any international experience. 10: 83.6 12:78 Btech: 8.57/10 Bit of Extra-curriculars Having no International experience will dent my prospect of admission.Plz reply.
Please advise if we can refer to a previous essay in another essay or do we need to mention the point again. For example, if I have mentioned my professional achievements in essay 1, can i just say, "as mentioned in the earlier essay" or do i need to repeat the achievements in essay 2.
In the first essay ("strong case to differentiate yourself") , should I also mention "Why MBA" and "Why ISB"? I am asking this question because I do not see any specific "Statement of Purpose" section in the ISB application.

You do not require international experience to make a strong application. Your workex is relevant from the perspective of your learnings & takeaways from your time at work and not due to the brand or location or industry of the employer.

You do not need to repeat the entire story, references are fine if you need to refer to another part of your application.

Essay 1 focuses on your achievements. Essay 2 gives you an opportunity to describe your professional aspirations. Essay 3 gives you open leeway to describe any other aspect of your candidature or anything else you may like us to consider. You may want to look at Essay 2 from a Why MBA/Why ISB perspective.
HiI have completed MBBS and currently pursuing MD in Pharmacology. I gave GMAT and scored 690. As I will complete my MD in May 2013, I am looking out for 2014 admit. Since I have a decent amount of time in hand, should I retake the test and try to improve my score? Or should I focus on writing good essays and on other parts of the application?Regards
Please focus on the essays and other portions of the application. Your GMAT score is quite strong and there is no reason for you to have to retake unless you wish to do so. A high GMAT does not compensate for glaring weaknesses in other aspects of an application esp when it comes to qualities such as leadership potential and your clarity of purpose.
Have interviews begun for Indian applicants from Mumbai? I had applied in the first round to ISB this year. And the admission website states Nov 15th as the final offer date. Does this mean all interviews for first round will happen before that date?
