@itisriharsha - CAT score will have a certain weightage, and rest of the weightage will be given to GD/PI and 10th, 12th Grad performances.
@varun3110 - NTPC, BHEL don't recruit from MBA. The companies that have visited so far is available in the MBA brochure. These are the places where the people graduated from 2006 batch are working.

Maximum Intake is 60 students. No reservations. Placement scenario for 2011-13 batch is good. There are in the final stages of completion. I cannot tell the companies now, but they have excellent positions in reputed firms even during tough market environments. PS stations they got are also excellent. You can find out their placement details through institution officials during GD/PI. I cannot publicly reveal, till the final placement is over.

CAT scores would be given weightage in final selections. Don't be over considerate about people scoring less than you and getting a call. They will have to stand back and deliver a great shot to make it in GD-PI. And rest all your apprehensions, because BITS Pilani always has given merit a salute. So prepare very well all of you. It will be an experience.

1) What is the tentative date when Bits shall announce the final result?
2) For E&C; background, what are the type of questions asked? eg- very basic principles or current scenario of telecom industry? In PI how much emphasis is laid on the student's technical knowledge?
P.S.- I have around 2.5 yrs of wrk exp.

June 1st week is the tentative date. But it could be announced Early Also. You would be asked about your work experience, technical aspects of your job. Yes there is a slight emphasis on the technical side. It all depends on your panel. If you are lucky you won't get a single technical question, or it could be a purely technical interview. During my interview, there was no technical question asked, it was all about things given in my resume and SOP. You would also be tested upon your General Knowledge. So keep reading the current affairs, prepare strong points about yourself. I am sure you would have a excellent interview.

@MANC-LONDON no. Cut-offs are 70 percentile. calls have been given in the ratio of 1:5 (300 students have been called for). Range of CAT Scores is from 70 percentile-95percentile.
