@sachin_nitrkl My CV looks like this, X-91%, XII-83.5%, B.Com-61% apart from the work ex. Also I have another certification in finance i.e Post Graduate Programme in banking and Finance-8 CGPA out of 10. Since I am based in Delhi, my first preference is FMS after the top 4 IIMs. Do any of these have any effect in reducing the percentile for call or I just have to slog it out for 99 percentile no matter what.
you havr 2 slog dude for FMS. However being a non-engineer sm iims might give u an advantage.

Well so be it. As the good lord said-"To reach me you have to cross the gates of hell."

@sachin_nitrkl just a innocuous query. Is the curriculum of FMS as rigorous as IIM's ??
@sachin_nitrkl can you inform what was the cut off for the final convert last year. I can assume that what would be the safe score for me then

Havent seen the curriculum of IIMs man , so cant really comment.
But it is rigorous enough to keep u busy most of the time , plus u have a lot of competitions which would keep u busy.

I dont remember it , but as of what i have the last person to receive the call had converted.
@sachin_nitrkl I have heard that FMS is awesome for Marketing and Finance specializations. What about Operations? I am looking forward to specialize in operations.

Wont say tough .. you cant change urself completely in a month .. but make sure u impress them a lot. Dont take any kind of pressure .. learn to handle FMS GDs .Be creative in ur extempore and flash ur knowledge wherever u can. They love it if u are well informed.I already had a convert from IIML when i went into the FMS interview , so i was quite relaxed and that helped i guess .. since i was at my very best.
That is a catch there.. a convert before an interview is a morale booster.. I will certainly go to the interview with a nothing-to-lose attitude.. Only then will I be able to give my best.. Being a borderline case as far as cut offs are concerned I might have to do extraordinarily well.. But I am sure I won't return without giving my best..

yeah make sure u know about ur industry well .. Those are the first few questions u must know .. Read up a lot on the issues in ur industry and try to give good facts than gassing around. FMS gds are a bit different where Fish markets are not at all welcome. So try to be that silent sensible guy who knows how to behave in a room.

when will the list come out ? although I have no chance...still...

yea sure.. I work in a power plant.. The power industry is in doldrums now.. So expecting a lot of questions there..
Actually GD is what I am worried about.. I can handle a PI..But some people just don't stop speaking in a GD.. Just have to work on when and how to put my point across at the right opportunity..

Well there were GDs in the past where because some people made it a fish market , they were scrapped. Even the profs warn you about that before the GD. So just make sure u have a couple of points to speak . If they have been spoken earlier of , try to be a bit articulative , citing some example.
They can ask anything about the power industry , right from how it is calculated to power sharing agreement disputes between different parties.
Being from Telecom industry , i was asked about 3g, 4g and stuff , though i explained them in detail . they went into tiny detail asking me what bandwidth means, how is it related to money , what is spectrum .. so make sure u know the nitty gritty of it.

Yea sure.. I have skimmed through the power industry on wikipedia.. will certainly go through in detail in the coming month.. I have also been reading stuff on Operations since that is my area of interest... I guess they will mostly concentrate on my work-ex.. But can't take chances.. They could venture into my academics..
Also are facts and figures of prime importance in a GD according to you??.. Or our opinion matters the most??..
How many minutes does a PI take generally??.. Do they grill you or a chilled out interview??.. Or it depends on how one takes it??..

Best thing about the business today link is if u are unaware of the background of an issue which most of us normally are , they have hyperlinks pointing to news and views on the same which you can read. so that u know an issue in entirety and not just what someone said the other day and a few headlines.

@sachin_nitrkl Hi sir i am from fashion technology background, NIFT- Chennai.please advise what kind of questions can i expect in PI .. totally cluelessThanks
Well we have a student here from NIFT . May be i can ask him and get back to you. Dont expect any question , the answer to which you wouldnt know. Just know "Why MBA" after Fashion and other HR questions.
Know about your work-ex and expect questions from whatever u speak. Yours is an industry most people wont know much about , so make sure u speak wisely and speak in a way that works to your advantage.

Any chances of shortlists coming soon ?

wen will the list be coming out??

@rebornNINJA Super dislike.Dont Blame your failure on us.I do agree with you that your efforts may not bring the desired result because of reservation. However the only solution hammered down on blogs and on net is de-reservation.Why does no one with equal force keep on asking for more seats? Why not increase the size of cake rather than complaining about the minor crumbs falling in the hands of backward category.I would like to inform you that though i have cleared TISSNET with marks above the cutoff for general category. The ppl in my library who came to know i cleared ,without a hint of inhibition declared my success as a product of reservation. My frnd had similar experience when he got admission in medical collg.I have and many in backward castes have similar experiences. If you belong to general category you will not understand the insult and scrutiny we have to face everytime an event comes up where we have to share our caste/category with others. Many of my friends feel so embarrassed to state they belong to backward category that they forego their RIGHT to reservation. Moreover there are increasing incidents of general category students getting caste certificate to avail the benefits of reserved category. Now you tell me has the historical oppression ended?...General category students such as Rajputs,Marathas,Chitpavan Brahmins etc keep boasting of their pedgree. How many of dalits or OBC students have you seen to do the same?Ask yourself (and you may as a social experiment ask others) what comes to their head first when someone says Dalit,Tribal or Backward caste.I am sure more than 80% will think of some negative image.I read express everday,i recount that not a single day passes where i wont read atrocities done by upper castes.Just read today's express for eg.Caste violence prompts Bihar to close SC/ST hostels. You being an aspirant you must have surely come across the topic of honour killings.I tell you that 99.99% of the time you will find that the family killing its own daughter and her eloper considers that it is DISHONOURABLE to have to bear seeing a girl from their family marrying a lower caste. Why do we never read instances where we see that the reverse is happening? If we belong to an equal society then surely we would have come acrossed violations by lower caste.Dont you find it an anomaly that we never hear honour killing among dalits for eg that a dalit family killed their daughter and her eloper?Or is it taken for granted that a dalit girl does not have honour. If we are so equal and if our society has truly transformed why do we always find Category ppl getting short end of the stick? As far as your complaints about government misspending goes, let me kindly inform you that as far as 84 secretaries are there in Union government you find 0 secretaries coming from SC categories. If we have reservations, and if we have been recruiting civil servants on such a basis then how come none of them reach the apex level. How come not a single person among them is qualified enough to take the secretary level position. Is it just a coincidence or is there a Glass Ceiling? My friend,i hope you appreciate what your father has taught you,and also the same must be done by your father towads his father(i.e your grandfather).Historically speaking we had varna system where a son will carry forward the vocation of his father. In this manner the knowledge and the skills of trade where handed down generation to generation. The insights of various occupation and experience where thus passed on.So in present times though you may not be carrying out the same trade or occupation as your forefathers but your parents have passed on the experience to you.Whereas if my forefathers were hunting, foraging or manual scavenging,do you still consider the Experience of my forefather will be of any use to me?So Do you think in this race of competition we will start in the same position or will general category students have a head start?PS:i apologize if i may have been rude in reply,it wasn't my intention to be so.

plese suggest some gud spoken english class in delhi
