when will the shortlists be out....when and where are the GD-PI held???
@amanjindal4 said:@sachin_nitrkl sir how often do the panelists read our SOP's , that we wrote in the form ??
Cant put a percentage to it .. but in my case and in some of my friend's case they dint read it.
@Gryphon said:@sachin_nitrkl Sir, any idea for the dates of shortlists?
Will try to ask and get the info.
@sachin_nitrkl Sir, My profile is as follows:
CAT: 99.32
GRAD: 95%(BBA-IT)
12th: 73%
10th: 60%

My XAT score dint fetch me a call from XLRI. No calls from top 3 IIMS (May be due to poor 10th %), So I am deliberately looking for FMS.
What are My chances of a Final Convert? Do they give any preference to female candidates?
Also, I want to pursue MBA in HRM, and Have written that in the form. As FMS is more famous for Finance and Marketing, so would my preference for HR weaken my candidature? How can I convince them that FMS is a suitable destination for HR? Can u tell me some facts about HR (Course structure, Alumni, placements etc)?

Chances of a convert are good provided u perform well in GDPI.
No preference as such to female candidates.
It wont weaken your candidature as such. Make sure u have an answer for why u want to pursue HR as a career.
FMS is more than a 50 year old instiution with alumni placed all over the globe in senior management position. It does allow specialisation in HR and have reputed professors .
I am still in first year and dont intend to pursue a specialisation in HR , so dont have much idea about their course structure. There were companies offering roles in HR to students . so that shouldnt be much of a problem. But that said , if u r career inclination is only HR , then XL is the place to be.

Sir, can you shed some light on Operations at FMS? I know Nitie is one of the best colleges for operations in India but wanted to know if there are many takers for operations at FMS? I can justify opting for operations but if FMS needs majority of marketing and finance students, it might hamper my chances.

anyone above 99 percentile stands a fair chance to prove himself.
A warning to people with high percentile - there were a lot of candidates last year who had got 99.9* and still dint get a convert.
So there is a fair chance for everyone to prove themselves.
concentrate on converting the call.

FMS doesnt need any particular kind of students focussed towards marketing or Fin.
Please get thing out of your mind that since placements for Fin and Marketing companies were good in the past, the selection panel would want to have more such students.
They want to create good managers out of you.. so anyone with a sound bent of mind , and interest towards business is welcome. remember at the end of the day u learn about part of a business or it in entirety.
personally,When i was asked of specialization in my interview , i said Systems because i had 4 yrs of IT experience. This was meant to dodge any uncomfortable question on Why finance :P
when and where the gd pi is going to be conducted
@sachin_nitrkl Hi sir , as you mentioned, anyone above 99 has a fair chance to get a convert , I am really looking forward to FMS , i have 99.38 , from some past information gathered , I learnt generally it's people with 99.60 who have very good chance , do you really have a rough idea how many candidates in your batch are ones with les than 99.50 ? I know it's a stupid question to ask, but given my preference for FMS , couldn't resist asking it , thanks
@cricketfreak they are quite a lot of number. We even have candidates having percentile less than 99 who converted.
