Process : A Group Discussion followed by a short write up on the same topic for 5 min, and then the Personal Interview.

Ok so i am the first one.. made it to first position at least somewhere :P
XAT Percentile - 93.66
10th - 91.40
12th - 89.80
Grads - 74.33
Work-Ex - close to nil.. 4 months
Batch of Interview - 8 30 am, 25 feb
GD Topic - Is the India growth story over?
this wont be a usual GD in many ways, firstly they are giving every individual chance to give an introductory statement, and at the end of the gd, also a chance to give a concluding remark, so there are 2 points, when you get to speak, and put your points forth for sure.. my group only 7 people turned up, so there was a lot of added advantage to talk more.. pretty decent gd, everybody spoke and everybody was happy about it..
PI - My panel was really good, and the best thing was they gave you ample scope to express yourself fully.. My PI was though really bad, because of my own blunder, but everyone who came out before me were really happy.. they might ask you which other calls you have and your preferences of the same, be convincing enough, if you really want to make it.. rest all general things, regarding schooling, why mba, work ex, and some other here and there things like, which field.. my interview lasted for good 20-25 mins..
Experience - only 7 people turned up, which for me is a turn down.. the same panel will take your gd as well as pi, so mind what you say in gd, this may ruin your PI, as happened in my case, after the gd you are asked to write an essay on the same topic of the gd, so it would be a good thing to note down good points of others while the gd is happening..
Apart from that, Delhi people, I can tell you, the venue, YMCA is walking distance from Patel Chowk metro station, but dont walk, while going for the interview :D, you will find an auto easily outside metro station charging you as less as rs 20, while coming back you can always walk and enjoy Delhi traffic

GD Topic - Is the Indian Growth Story over?
Experience - We were given 5 minutes for collecting our thoughts. Each one of us was given a minute to make our introductory statement about the topic, then discuss the topic till the moderator said to stop. The duration of the gd was up to the moderators. Our GD was more or less a fish market many people trying to speak at the same time. Though a lot of angles were covered like economic, political and social they was not elaborated upon. My contribution was highlighting the problems which has led to the slow growth like inflation and low iip. Did not get much chance to get back into the GD, so disappointed with my gd performance. We could have discussed so much more on the economy front but the group more or less discussed the social and the political point of view. Also, the solutions for a better growth were not discussed in detail. :(
Once the gd finished, each of us had to summarise the gd and we were given a minute for that.
In the end we were given 5 minutes to pen down what was discussed and if we wanted to add something else. Guys a note here in the essay paper there is a blank asking our GIM ID. So, kindly keep that with you. I did not have mine so entered only my XAT id (For people with CMAT their CMAT ID). They said it is ok, but to be on the safer side keep it with you.

Q. Tell me something about yourself
Q. Why do you have a low score in grad after being a good performer till xiith.
Q. Why do you want to pursue marketing.
Q. Regarding my work ex. Questions on what tools I used.
Q. A question regarding why i chose a particular elective in my grad.
Q. Questions regarding the marketing survey. Quota check and routing of questionnaire (Again related to my workex)
Q. If marketing is your passion, will you ignore the other core subject which will be taught, why should you study them?
That's it the interview lasted for around 12 15 minutes I guess. I was quite satisfied with my PI performance, baaki sab upar walle ke bharose. *fingers crossed*
Note: Please keep your certificates in order, generally they are not asking for it. But, they asked from me and all of them were in my graduation certificate folder, so it is better to keep them in order and separate.

i had my gd/pi today at BKC - Mumbai 1.30 pm slot..Only 9 pple out of 12 present..
GD Topic - Democracy is assisting the Country or is an Hindrance in the development of India(don't remember the exact topic.. meaning yehi tha lekin)
First.. (L-R) pple were asked to speak 30 secs on intro.. den gd.. which lasted for around 10-12 mins... den from R-L pple were asked to conclude.. after that in 5 mins we were askd to summarize the gd topic.. (in around 250 words)
Every1 gets the opportunity to speak.. GD went in a systematic manner... not at all a fish market...
PI : 2 panelists... same gd wale hi the... simple interview...
-askd me about my graduation college and asked me why i have mentioned CA in the "Other qualification" box...
-then askd me about my wrk experience with my previous company and current firm...
-told to explain the Loan processing in detail.. and how to do credit analysis...
-den askd me few questions about political linkages of company.. (kaunse politican ka haath hai company mein... unhone 2 naam liye n pucha ki kya inlogo ka haath hai and i gave the third name XXX aur bola ki suna hai inka haath hai.. but no evidence about the same.. )
-den askd me about sports... which One do u play ?
-den askd me.. if u trade... n name two Stocks which should be bought.. justify the same...
-den askd me if any Sr citizen wants to invest lumpsun to recv mnthly pension.. where should he invest... knowing the fact that FD's give around 8% return.. where can he get more returns..

PS: No docs were checked... no resume was asked for... infact my file wasn't seen at all...
however the previous girl's file was seen to check her marks... n earlier guy was askd questions on whatever he had said in GD...
so don't speak anything in GD which may haunt u in the PI...

HAD my GD PI today..dis-appointed with GIM, the kind of arrangement they hv done and also with faculty...
@Bibhu2109 ...bhai tension mat lo..aisa kuch GD nahi hai..in Bang, they done something pathetic..20-30 to introduce..5 min fpr GD with 12-13 people and again 20-30 sec for conclusion.....fir 5 min to write the essay on t same...inface they were themselves not clear essay or summary
