[2013-2015] MFC, Deptt. of Financial Studies [DFS], DU Admission discussions

@pratheekguy

Yes , you are eligible for MFC and MBE considering you have studied Mathematics as a main subject in 12th standard.

Please go through the Prospectus to know about MFC and MBE. (Link is given in the very first post of this thread).
@romeo1209

You just need to enter only the absolute value in the form.

For e.g. - If you have scored 70.55% in graduation then enter only 70.55 in the form.
dont u think a index score of 91 is too high to be treated as cutoff for call ......it means a student with 98 percentile and 10th , 12th -->> 70-80% ,, 80 in 12th maths wont get a call from mfc but he will get calls from lower iim's, imt , MDI, NITIE ..... is MFC better than these colleges .??? shouldnt the cutoff of MFC be a bit lower to somewhat like 87-88 index score ... ???
@anant_nh baat to sahi hai aapki...

Hi, I have applied for MBE as well as MFC. My marks:
X - 93.3
XII- 83
Grad - 77.3
XII Math - 93/100
I belong to the general category. What CAT percentile do I require to get a call for both the programs?

@iamnishant @kshitiz_mfc I have registered for MFC/MBE online..Cant I pay online???What are the documents which I need to send??Draft should of which bank???plzz reply..What about scorecard??

Seniors. Would you please throw some light on infrastructure, facility available on DBE. Do you have access to BIG Delhi University Library ?

Does classroom, seminar halls, conforence rooms are wifi enable ?
This seems odd questions but i didnt find these details in Prospects nor on website.
Thanks.
@nikhildsi4481

You have to pay through Demand draft only. You can get it made from any bank but it should be 'Payable at South Delhi'. After completion of online registration, you need to send a printed copy of online application form and Demand draft. Scorecard of CAT will be needed only after the announcement of CAT results.
@iamnishant What about mark sheets and work ex docs??
@iamnishant
website for online registration is too slow. i have been tring since yesterday..
@iamnishant i think i need super computer to get through this website.

I am from engineering background with work ex of 16 months ... does this institute prefer engineering graduates ... as they said graduates from B. Com. (Hons.),B. A. (Hons)(Economics),B. A. (Hons.) (Business Economics),BBE will get extra advantage ....
if they prefer engineering graduates then what is the present % of engineering graduates in the batch of 2011-13
And what is the topic of discussion in the GD round of any MBA college ????
Please reply asap

It will be checked during the GD/PI process.

@anant_nh

First of all, a reminder that comparison of colleges is not allowed on Pagalguy.

Second, We never communicated any expected cutoff for this year in the entire thread so whoever quoted '91' may be making his own estimate and is not from us.

Third, cutoffs are dependent upon the index scores of applications received for a particular category and the GD/PI call ratio. So there is an equal probability that cutoffs can go in either direction.But again, it is your decision whether to fill the form or not taking the best as well as worst scenarios into consideration.

Fourth, I believe that MFC is one of the very few colleges who has explicitly mentioned the weightage of past academics and CAT score for GD/PI as well as for Final admission.This is of great help to all aspirants in making an informed decision whether they want to apply or not and also results in transparency during the entire process.

Fifth, cutoffs were decided last year in the following manner:
Last year call ratio was 5:1.if there were 24 seats for general category and if the number of applications received exceed 120 (24*5) then top 120 applicants (of general category) were called on the basis of their respective index scores.

I hope this will help.
@whysoserius

I will forward this issue to relevant authority. In the meantime, keep trying. It might be temporary.
@iamnishant I belong to OBC NC..NO need of sending the category certificate now???
@nikhildsi4481

As i said earlier, all documents including certificate will be checked during the GD/PI process

firstly i'm nt comparing mfc , no need for comparison coz mdi, NITIE are better than MFC [everyone knows]
secondly no one here mentioned cutoff index score to be 91 , i am just taking an estimate coz last year it was 90.38 .... so this year might be 89 -91 [ it may vary but thats just an example to consider] .... so we here see that a student with gud cat score like 98-99%ile nd decent 10th , 12th [70-80] will not get a call frm MFC but he might get admission in fms, mdi [how weird is this .... ->fms converted and no call from Mfc ]
no wieghtage to workex [ i know that workex ppl will have an edge in PI ,,, but they need to have a call for their workex to be considered ]
a person having 3-4 yrs workex in a gud company like amazon, dell, any other will have no value for his workex if he does not clear the 1st step , so workex should be given weight-age in the 1st step only .....
i seriously hope that u get my point :)

@kshitiz_mfc can u please tell me what my score will be? 10th : 79.9, 12th - 81.3, grad- 85.1, maths 90%.. shud i apply for the mbe? also i did bba

and expected cat score would be 86-92
