@c13shashank 167 are placed( out of 180+manag quota). min was around 3.XX..
are u sure min was 3.XX, that too after spending 8 lakhs and 2 precious years...if ur data is correct then surely all need to think before opting out for SCIT. I have heard in some colleges companies below 5 are not allowed,wat abt SCIT ,the highest package(11) is not so good neither the lowest...seniors plz clarify on this..wat was the min package offered at SCIT last yr.
@gr8assasin sahi hai boss...

converted..bt not joining... having been into IT since couple of years.& knowing about the consequences about this industry. & considering its outsourcing n instability nature, dont wanna restrict my profile to this particular domain post MBA. Mba is global thing. n certainly the target is general specialization from top 35-40.so that opportunities will be optimum when i m done with mba. u guyz can think. ATB ALL 😃

@gr8assasin I know a mate who is 2012 pass out,,,he got this package.....

Is the pre-induction course common across all the Symbi institutes? Say if I confirm my admission at one of the symbi institutes and then cancel it to go to the other institute after some time, will I be required to pay it again? Because this is non-refundable part of the first installment... and 35K is a big amount..

Exactly my query!!!.......Converted SCIT but waitlisted for SIIB. Now if I pay the induction fees for SCIT now and later on if I convert for SIIB, then do I have to pay again or is the money transferable between the 2 institutes. Seniors plz shed some light on this!
@shayon62 Same Query!!!!!

Hi,
Pre induction is different for different institutes...The material offered is as per the course structure of the respective institutes...

Hi,

This is just to clarify about the course.
Specialization in IT..i.e MBA(ITBM) doesnt mean you are going to study only subjects related to IT.The course is designed in such a way that a student once passed out from the institute would be in position to manage the IT business as a whole.Hence it wont limit your oppurtunites.
The course structure has a mix of core managerial subjects like Economics,Marketing,Business Process managment,Financial Accounting,Financial Management,Managerial Statistics,Business process and strategic managment,HR managment,Market Research etc..to name a few along with IT subjects (Which are electives from the specialisations as chosen by you along with some core subjects).Also we have domain specific subjects like Banking and finance , Manufacturing etc to help the students know more about the domains where IT projects mainly fall in.
A manager in general needs to know about everything from marketing to finance to HR along with the domain knowledge specific to that industry.This holds true for all specializations and not specific to IT
And as far as the IT industry being in bad shape is concerned ..Its not entirely true...IT is an enabler for most of the businesses and it is required to keep the business running.I cannot predict the economic and market situation 2 years down the line but all i can say is your future depends on what you do today.So put in your best efforts and put your best foot forward once you join the institute...I am sure you will get the best in return..!!

Looking forward to seeing you all here..All the best!!

Hi,
The profile depends on the requirements they have...Usually profiles such as business analyst,Consultant,Project management roles are offered...
The criteria would vary as per the company policy...Some have criteria such as 60% in acads..some are open and allow everyone...
Hope this answers your query..!!

I understand that pre-induction is different for different institutes. The fee required to confirm ur admission in SCIT is around 2.6 lakhs whereas for SIIB its nearly 3 lakhs.
Now if I confirm my seat in SCIT paying the 2.6 lakhs & later on find that I convert for SIIB, then can I transfer the money from SCIT to SIIB and pay the difference i.e. 40k bucks to confirm admission in SIIB?
Also, will the Rs 35k i.e. the non-refundable part still be deducted if I take admission in another of Symbiosis institutes???
@srikanthm1987 I am not having any IT related work experience or knowledge. I did my Engineering from a REC in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Would going for MBA in ITBM really be a good choice as I am looking forward for career in Consulting after MBA.

Would somehow these factors diminish my chances of getting a lucrative offer at the end of course! Sorry but Sawaaal Aur bhi hain??

I agree.. the pre-induction course fee should be transferred (or refunded atleast) as they are not providing hard copy books and just giving access to online content through user id and password.. Once a student cancels his admission at a particular institute, user account can be deleted and the new institute can issue new credentials...
@c13shashank As far as I know, it might affect on ur package...as there r different packages for freshers and laterals. But if you do well in gd-pi rounds, then company might increase ur package as well.
PS: I am an aspirant, not a senior.
