[2013-2015] SCIT Aspirants Queries and Discussions

@yorkmena Hi,We have people from varied backgrounds in our batch. In SCIT the focus is more on managerial aspects of IT and not much on the technical aspects. As far as placements are concerned there is no such criteria that only people from IT background get placed. As long as you satisfy the company's criteria and give good performance in the interviews you have an equal chance of getting placed.
Hope this answers your query!!

What was the cut off last time for GE Category?
Hi , The cutoffs were not disclosed last year and this year because of the percentile system nothing can be predicted based on past cutoffs.

@darshan.m Still a rough idea about the marks on which last guy crawled in!
@c13shashank : hi Shashank , I can understand your concern very well. The cutoff was not made out last year so its difficult to tell the correct figure . For now , I can only say that the cutoffs for each college in Symbiosis depends on the difficulty level of the SNAP test.As this year the selection pattern has changed to percentile , it'll be tough to predict/ comment on cutoffs . :)

Hi,
Your profile looks decent. This year due to the percentile system it is difficult to predict the cut offs and your final conversion depends on both your SNAP percentile along with your performance in GE-PI.Hope this answers your query
All the best..!!
Hi @SreeSharan.s ,

I would like to know the ratio of number of applicants to the number of shortlist. Also, how is the final score calculated? I read somewhere on the forum that the SNAP score is reduced to a certain ratio. Would like you to elaborate it a bit.

Thanks!

I know it would be difficult for seniors to answer.... But please try n answer this query of mine!

Hi ,
Your profile is decent enough and you have good chances of converting if you perform well in GE/PI.

All the best !!

At SCIT we follow the legacy of holistic learning, and this is not only said in words but pretty much proved by the team from SCIT who won the SAP BizTech 2012 - Demo Jam organized by SAP at Bangalore. The team was awarded a cash prize of INR 1,00,000 and an invite to Global SAPPHIRE at Orlando next May. For more details, refer the link:

Hi ,
First of all , Sreesharan.S is busy with his academic activities so he wont be able to reply for now.

1. The number of applicants shortlisted varies every year .
Last year 1200 candidates got a call for GE/PI.

2. The final merit score will be calculated based on the following:
Parameter - Marks
SNAP score - 180 Marks scaled down to 40 Marks
Attributes (Based on performance in Class 10, Class 12, Graduation and relevant Work Experience) - 20 Marks
Group Excercise - 20 Marks
Personal Interview - 20 Marks
Total - 100 Marks

3. As you can see , the SNAP score is scaled down for the final merit list .This is done to give proper weightage to the overall profile of the candidate and not just his/her SNAP score.

Hope i have answered your queries !!
