[2013-2015] SCIT Aspirants Queries and Discussions

@Jalpesh_Shah : You are defenitely not alone in thinking that. 7.8 lacs fees + your 2 years expenses and other costs that you incur - Its scary enough, so you have every right to be worried about placements

Regarding 10th and 12th or graduation percentage

Yes, most companies do set a criteria of 60% as the elegibility. This is not applicable to only SCIT. You join any college you will have to face this criteria, and the marks will come back to haunt you.

So does SCIT guarantee you placements even if you are not scoring 60% in graduation. ?

Yes and No. You might miss out on the big companies, But you are still eligible for other tier 2 companies. Again i am talking about the worst case scenario. You do well in your 2 years here, marks wont matter much.

One more thing, SCIT is not about academics alone. Class participation and acads hardly constitute 50% of your overall learning here. Its about actively participating in a lot of activities (Check the brochure/ website or any of our events FB page). Outside the classroom learning is what SCIT is all about.

PS : About the deleted post. We are extremely sorry. We did not think much about replying to such kind of absurd posts and we appreciate you in bringing it up the same way i brought it up last time

@arjunracing

thank you, I got my answer.
by the way, don't know about any other aspirants but I had doubt related to this so I asked this. No regrets. :)

Thank you again for solving my query.

Keeping my fingers crossed !!! hope i get thru!!

@shaamsasidharan how was your ge pi
@shanmukh31 : I thought it was decent enough..! first i had a written test.! "My job Vs My Passion", after that we were taken to a GD round.. where we were shown a picture regarding petroleum price hike... I thought my GD was okay.! then came the GE: we were given a case study : I think that also was good! . Had a subjective interview: A lady took the interview.. I told her my work ex is as a banker.! all her questions revolved around application of IT in banking! was challenging and nice at the same moment! she asked me about SOAX audit etc! was able to answer them well! but i got a little bit nervous in the PI! else i think things went fine! hope i make it!
@shaamsasidharan wat r ur acads? and ur snap score and how many months exp u hav?

Hey SCIT guys, What are my chances to convert the call..

SNAP score - 78.2 percentile
I have 34 months of experience in IT MNC
BE in IT - 70%
12th - 93%
10th - 84.40%

My ge/pi was good, First group exercise on image shown on projector and another group task...Subjective interview was good nd HR was taken by colonel, it was ok...Wat u guys thnk wat are my chance?

With each one of them sharing their GD/pi experiences, i also thought of sharing my own

my profile:

10th: 76.5
12th: 78
b tech: 62
SNAP score : 74 %ile
Work Exp: 23 months in IT MNC.

Coming to my GD PI exp:

My essay was OK, next was GD where we had to discuss on a picture...though it turned out to be a fish market, it went well for me as i spoke 3-4 valid points in between.....next was group task where our group was divided into 2 teams and each team was given the same topic to discuss.......this round was OK for me again as i answered 2 direct questions from director himself and also came up with few points of my own..(though i was not the selected as group leader )....the next round was subjective interview where i answered confidently all questions from the panel of 2 ladies...this round was good and went well.....coming to last round i.e. HR interview...i was totally grilled on the economic topics like inflation and its effects, GDP growth rate and reasons for dollar/rupee value fluctuation.....don't know why was i asked questions related to economy in HR round but i couldn't answer the interviewer questions confidently and this round went really bad for me..........

With the help of some luck, i hope to sneak through the final merit list.....

will first list be out on 28th feb?

those have selected as a group leader in gd had any advantage in selection process??

After my HR interview was done, which went bad, the HR panelist gave me a handshake and I left, does that mean "Sorry, better luck next time"????????

@arjunracing@rvupadhyay@roymisgbs@IChawla@bunswapafter all, I know that B Schools aren't meant for a good placement but at one stage u must consider those ~9,00,000 Rs. which are spent for that study.
Hi,
The value for the fees paid doesnt depend on placements alone. It is the holistic development that counts and which makes you a good manager.
Yes,Placements is important and SCIT stats put up on the website tells that the placement is quite consistent.
Regarding the 60% eligibility criteria:
Yes some companies do have a criteria. But it is a company requirement and is true for all colleges that company visits. Not all companies have this criteria. If you have an aggregate of less than 60,theres nothing you can do to change that.
But if you perform well here , you give yourself a good chance of getting placed in a good company.
My suggestion would be to concentrate on the current and future and dont think too much about your past aggregate marks as theres nothing you can do to change that.

All the best for the results..!!

@yash5491

My HR interviewer was a defense personnel ... Never shook hands I don't think these things can be interpreted as "Sorry, better luck next time"

Just wait for 28th Feb :)
