I believe all the seniors are busy in the final recruitment process : SBI General Insurance Co campus recruitment for Sales profile (CTC Rs 3 lpa) on 8-9 Mar 2013(details given in students notice section in the websiteof xiss). more than 20 students of marketing and finance are participating.... this gives us a vague idea about the average package of these departments....... placements not going to well for pgdbm........what say friends.....
You mentioned about SBI GIC to friends on PG but you didn't mention about Jet Airways and Daimler appearing on the same page .... You have a very negative approach in your presentation.
@admcell : I do appologize for the same .........but the thing is everybody was speculating about the placements of marketing and finance i just directed them where to keep an eye on the placements in the website........because literally there was no one here in PG to help us out or clear our doubts.... not trying to ruin the institutes reputation....i myself is keeping good hopes for the institute....... Good to get you back in PG .......And yes it would be very helpfull if you keep on visiting pagalguy....so that you can clear the candidates doubts here itself.........
We must understand that 'Education' is not all about placements. Professional education is to equip you with the skill desired for a trade / profession. There have been discussions only (if not only majorly) about placements, that's unfair. If any institution focuses only on placements than, education / academics will loose focus and that would hurt the institution in long run. We always focus on making students placeable and Jobs come for our students automatically.
Second aspect of the placement is 'Expectation Management'. Recently it has been observed that expectation of candidates have become unrealistic in terms of CTC / Org'n / Designation / Location etc, which is again not justified, at least in case of 'Freshers'.
Our fee is guided by Jh Govt's fee fixation committee, which keeps on changing every year as per the suggestions of the committee. Hence it doesn't find a mention on the website due to legal reasons. Tuition fee is around Rs. 3.5 lacs for two years course. Rest assured XISS is among the most economical in top 50 B-schools in the country.
@admcell how much amount do we have to give initially to reserve our seat? Is is refundable? How much deduction will be there if we decide not to join the institute after booking our seat? When does the new session start?
@shivamus : Approx 80-85 K is the first installment at the time of admission. For refund we strictly follow AICTE guidelines. There is nothing called 'Seat Booking' amount.
@Rockyan : XISS is one of the few institutes which offer core specialization from the very first semester, otherwise most of the institutes offer specialization only in the second year. Dual specialization is not offered XISS in any specialization. There is concept of Major / Minor in Marketing and Finance.
@ragsss007 : RM is one of its unique kind of program. The initial offers are in grass root level organizations with lot of field work. But after a experience of 2-3 the career growth is exponential for people with potential. At present many of the CSR Heads with best of the organizations, Country and State Heads of Top level NGOs / INGOs are XISS Alumni. RM and HRM compensations can't be compared for initial jobs, it would be something like comparing a cub and a kitten ....
