I read that the profiles sharing similar number of work experiences are compared.
If a candidate has written total number of work-ex inclusive of Full-time, part-time, trainee and internship period, does ISB compares the profile based on number of years indicated by the applicant OR does ISB first makes an assessment of what should be accounted towards the work-ex (in this case it can be a number lower than what the applicant has suggested) and then compares with the equivalent profiles?
thanks!
We consider full-time workex as being the paid experience when candidate is employed full-time after their bachelor's (or master's ) degree. Internships are not counted, although being employed as a trainee for the beginning of your employment does count. Although candidates disclose their workex in the application, the actual workex is the one that the admissions team calculates when reviewing the quality of an application. However, please mention your internships and other traineeships as they help us understand your range of work and life-experiences even if these cannot be included in full-time workex.
Among other criteria, we look at an applicant relative to their peer group - this includes other applicants with a similar number of years of workex but would also include other attributes such as candidates from a similar industry, function, experiences etc. The purpose being to determine whether the candidate demonstrates above average leadership potential, self awareness, learning & takeaways from their professional and life experiences. You should not worry about who else is applying but concentrate on introspecting on your strengths, personal qualities and reasons for seeking an MBA. This approach invariably helps you prepare a strong MBA application.
For international applicants, can you clarify what does rolling admissions means? If they apply between september to november, will they fall into R2 category? Or will they hear back within 3 weeks from date of submission about short listing?
All international passport holders will be reviewed and interviewed (if short-listed) within 30 days of completion of application and decision communicated within the next 2 weeks.
I choose the offline mode for one of the evaluator and subsequently accepted by ISB. My offline evaluator has uploaded the evaluation and the same was reflected in my application in that application status was showing that evaluation received by ISB . However, after submitting the application , the application status is showing that offline evaluation is yet to be received. Is my evaluator is also supposed to send the evaluation by post ? please clarify as just 4 days left for receiving evaluation.

These are tentative dates and are subject to change without any notice in view of circumstances beyond our control. Decision of the Admissions Committee is final. There is a possibility of interviewing earlier in Hyderabad, if applications are received much earlier. Dates will be finalized only...

Hi @ISB.Admissions , this is on a lighter note. I understand that you're very busy. But what is common-est mistake which you feel candidates make while interviewing? This can be anything that makes you (the interview panel ) chuckle π .
hi @ISB.Admissions . Could you please elaborate on what leadership programmes and rotational programmes do different companies come to hire for and what they look for(Eg minimum work ex etx.)?

Leadership programmes constitute around 10% of the total number of offers made to last graduating class, and came from companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, IBM, Ranbaxy, GE, HCL, HUL, and Philips among others. Each company has its own criteria in terms of leadership qualities, workex and other credentials. You may want to consult their websites to learn more regarding the qualities they seek.

I see that the interview invites are being out sent out to candidates from the activity on the ISB applicants thread. Is there a better estimated range of dates for the Skype interviews for overseas applicants now? Also how late (October last week?, Nov 1st week??) can the interview invites be sent out to applicants? Appreciate your response. Thanks.
@ISB.AdmissionsI am doing my engineering from Bangalore in Information Science.I am currently in my final year of engineering.I am planning to do MBA from ISB itself.
My academic scores are very less-64.8% in 10th and 59.8%in 12th and 65% upto 7th sem.
My extra curricullars are not so good.I participated in inter-school football, basketball tournaments and recieved some medals in Swimming at school level.I did not participate much during my College Days.
If i compensate such "not so good" profile with a good GMAT score (700+),
do i have a chance to qualify for the interview round provided i work well on my application ???
Hi I had applied to the YLP program last year and had gone for the final interview, but did not get through. Now I have started working after completing my graduation this year. Can I now apply through the Early Entry Option? If yes, will I have to send my official GMAT score report again via Pearson?
@ISB.Admissions i am a re-applicant and have the following queries :
1) with no specific feedback provided this year abt the candidate's profile or i/v exp, wat will be the general idea of improvement expexted possible in a candidate's profile ?
2) It may so happen , that the this year may have been comparatively stagnant as compared to previous year professionally for a person, how does ISB asssess/discount that ?
Guys any idea what all happens as part of assessment before the interview. Is it only the write-up or anything else? Also I have no idea about this write-up. What we are supposed to do in that?
