A big congratulations to all the call-getters!

Time to get started with your preparations for the WAT-PI process. A couple of pointers from my end:

1. Take WAT seriously, otherwise you might find yourself struggling for content on the D-Day. Topics are very general which makes structure and logic much more important than decorative things like facts and vocabulary.

2. Don't get into computing your composite scores and speculating your chances. The way I see it, it is all about the remaining two components given that the best of the best pre-PI people have made the cut. Put your best foot forward and believe that what remains will make it or break it - the past should not matter.

And please stop feeling dejected about not getting other calls. If IIMB is what you really want to get into, it is the one and the only call that should matter from now on! All the very best!

IIM B , result out!! PI in March.feeling relieved.

Shortlisted for IIMB Interview with OA% 93.54, 12th 90.4%, 10th 80%!!

Shortlisted....but the problem is my interview is scheduled on 10th March and another IIM interview is already scheduled on this date. what should i do ??

For IIMB application are we required to upload scanned copies of original score-cards or is it ok if scanned copies of photocopies of score-cards are uploaded instead?

Dear All,

Congratulations for the call.
Now is the time to start preparing tenaciously for the WAT & PI. From now on, you are competing for a place in this coveted campus with some of the best minds in the country. You have ample time to prepare and a chance to justify the late nights spent for CAT. Here are some gyann from my experience.

Interviews
------------
1) IIM-B interviews are considered to be chill, they evaluate you as a person, so start introspecting yourself and search for that elusive "why mba ?" answer. This would also help you for your SOP.
2) Write your SOP as meticulously as possible. A large part of the interview might be on it.
3) Learn about your native state, recent regional issues, brush up the state's geography as well a bit.

WAT
-------
1) Current affairs and the state of the indian economy are a must, last time I had enrolled for "essayforiim". It was helpful.
2) Last year, only a reasonable space was given for writing. hence there was a lot of stress on quality than quantity or style. So your content matters a lot.

Believe me, this phase is going to be tougher than the exams. But the last hurdle is always the toughest to cross and this place is worth all the effort you are going to put.

May the force be with you all. Cheers.

Here is one of the most inpiring post I have come across on PG regarding GD/PI preparation by one of the legends "Keeler.drummer"

I don't think I can get reco from my manager...Will it be a problem if I don't have reco from manager???

Dear Aspirants, As it finally sinks in that you have bagged one of the most coveted calls, it's time to start working towards converting it. Here is something to get you started with, if you haven't started preparing already.

IIMB has a wat/PI process. For Wat topics and PI experiences of last year visit the thread below:

http://www.pagalguy.com/discussions/iim-bangalore-2013-15-wat-pi-experiences-25095089

Normally, the Wat topics are based on issues that you already have an opinion about. They are used to understand your structure and thought process and not your command over any particular subject. Flow, language and content matter too. Abstract topics are rarely asked in IIMB Wat.

There are 3 components to preparing for an Interview:

1) Current affairs & GK: As a prospective manager it is expected that you know and understand what is going on in the world around you. Reading newspaper regularly is therefore a virtue. Do make sure that you at least go through the editorials and the important news. Economic times is good if you can read and understand it. Hindu/Business standard are other papers you can read. In addition, try brushing up current affairs at least for the past 6 months by visiting sites like http://pdeng.pdgroup.in/Index.aspx and http://www.examresource.in/ You need to be thorough with at least Aug 2013 - Jan 2014.

2) Profile: If you have work ex you need to know all you can about your job and your company. Be ready to answer any question they ask about what work you do. And believe you me, professors here know everything under the sun! So you can't get away with bluffing! Try taking a copy of your company's annual report and browse through at least the company report and key figures for the previous fiscal year. If you are a fresher make sure you know your subjects well. All subjects are important. However, do pick 2 of your favorite subjects and prepare in-depth about them so you can steer the interview in that direction. If you have mentioned extra curriculars make sure you know what you're talking about. For instance, I am a carnatic vocalist and they asked me to list the 72 melakartha ragas in the interview! They know their stuff, so better you do too!

3) HR questions:

You will see that as you fill forms for colleges you are asked to think much more deeply about yourself than you ever did. This exercise is important. Skipping it won't help. In the process you'll develop an understanding of what you would like to project yourself as in the interview.

Take time to prepare your SOP. Your SOP should ideally contain a snapshot of you - what have you done in life till now, Why you choose to do MBA, what value add can you bring to the batch, and finally how can our college help you achieve your objectives. Work on the common questions, a list of which I'll try to upload soon.

Most importantly enjoy the process! Do message any of us in case of questions. 😃

Hello puys,
I was filling the application and I am facing one issue.
While filling university level details, the fields Degree Level, Discipline, University Type ,University Name, Degree complete and Final Marks are read only (greyed out.)
It should have picked those from CAT application, I suppose..but it doesn't display anything in these fields, nor am I able to make an entry.
And when I press save after filling other entries, it says "Please enter all Required Values"
Thinking it to be some browser issue, I tried on chrome, firefox, ie everywhere.

Is someone else also facing this issue ?
And in case, I am the only one, seniors, should I contact IIMB officials regarding this ?

Attaching a screenshot as well ..

Anybody from general cateogry who got shortlised with a percentile bewlow 95??

Any call getters from bangalore...and when??

I got 2 mails from IIM B that i got shortlisted for WAT/PI process and even my login id to IIM B admissions site is also working, but when i checked in the PGP WAT/PI shortlist link on the IIM B site, my SR number was not shortlisted. I am confused.. is anybody facing the same issue?

Hey Guys, which is one is better for GDPI prep? TIME or CL?
