the admission process says tat a weightage of 20 is given to cat score.. does this mean conversion of cat percentile from scale of 100 to 20 or any other standardization is applied? how much would be the difference between cat %iles 100 and 90 (for eg.) in the final score?

Hello IIMB Aspirants,
Congratulations for getting the coveted call from IIMB. I am a first year student here and I can tell you that IIMB is truly the place to 'B'. I am sure that all you guys must be busy filling the application form right now and my advice would be to make sure you give your best shot at writing the SOP. Its very important and there are high chances you will be quizzed about that in interview. Also regarding the references, try and take references from different sources like work-place, undergrad and school so that you can get as many diverse points as possible. Also it would be great if your reference corroborate what you have written in the SOP.
At the same time start preparing for your interview and brush up your current affairs. For B, the writing task has significant weight-age and it cannot be left to chance. Last year we got very diverse topics and also good preparation can see you through this stage. I would personally recommend the GD-PI workshop from TIME and e-book from essaysforiim.com to prepare for the writing aptitude test. I relied on both of them extensively and my experience was very good. The e-book specifically covers a lot of current topics in sufficient detail and will definitely stand you in good stead.

I ve CAT OA- 96.4 QDI- 84 VLR- 98.8..So i ve cleared the sectional cutoffs and the overall cutoff both..as reqd by IIMB...Still i dint get shortlisted for next stage...So what are those cut offs about..:(
A hearty welcome to all IIMB Aspirants.
Firstly congratulations on making it this far. This is no mean feat so bask in the glory. But get back to business of WAT/PI prep as soon as possible.
As current students of the college who have gone through the same process as you, let me tell you we fully understand what you are going through at this point.
But please remember the Call is only half the battle. The most important part of the journey into B is still awaiting you. If you think CAT was bad, the WAT/ PI prep is even worse.
Here are some must dos:
1. Write the SOP very seriously and write what you firmly believe in in the form. Because let me tell you they will ask you questions related to SOP and in that high pressure moment only what you really believe will come through.If you try to fake it the interviewers will know. So know the SOP inside out. Infact this goes for anything you write in the form
2. Prepare for the PI. Anything is fair game, be it UG subjects, current affairs, work ex or even a trivia about your city. state, college anything.
All said I know it looks very scary but at the end its all worth it. Also remember this is not a elimination process but a selection process. So practice WAT/PI questions as much a you can. Practice makes perfect. You have 15mins in the spot light. Make the magic happen.

Hello all. For an integrated masters 5 year degree,(incomplete,I am in final year now, made it to IIM-B shortlist) ,upto which semester in consideration does one fill the marks and upload the consolidated marksheets?
(Note: For shortlisting,IIMs had asked to fill graduation score at the end of 3 years for such degrees).
Hi,
I have a query. There is an option on the form which says Date of Publication of results at University level. I received my results in July 2010 and my date of joining at my company was June 7th 2010. However, when I try to save these details, it says that "Your Date Of Joining cannot be before the Date of Publication of Results" and it doesnt let me save the form. Please advise.
I have a Reference who belongs to London. Im trying to put in his contact number along with the London region code. But it only allows you to put in 11 numbers on the form. What should I do?
Mine is a product-based company. Would it be better if I selected "Manufacturing Information Technology Products" ?
