P1 was not convinced with this.

OK! Thank you for coming!

Hi, is it necessary to carry a resume for the interview?? Or the pre-filled proforma will suffice, thanks

those who have converted iim a or b dont waste you money on air/rail tickets and hotels .. ..... enjoy people....congrats.... 😃 chill maaro baith ke ab

guys i have a question

didnt make it to fms shortlist ( pathetic cat score )...planning to give it another go...from what i see from the interview experiences posted below...the interviews seem to be very short and the panelists seem to be very indifferent , so is fms basically a numbers game ?

Just a question : Who should not join FMS? I mean what kind of profile would not benefit from doing an MBA from FMS.

What are the documents to be taken for the interview???

1) 10th, 12th, grad marksheets

2) CAT scorecard

Thats it right?? Do we have to bring an SOP or copy of the proforma???

Done with the last interview call I have. For those who wish to know, it takes approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hour to reach FMS from Delhi airport by cab. My interview experience is as follow:

Document Verification - Registration form has to be filled up after entering the hall and we need to wait for our name to be called. Originals of X, XII, B.Tech are verified and those who did not fill up the SOP portion of initial application need to fill it up and submit a photograph along with it. After verification is done, wait for your name to be called again for the interview.

Interview Experience:

CAT OA - 99.60%

Board 4 - Two females, One male

Extempore Topic: Indian Women - Talked about the respect women have in Indian culture and women coming into prominence in various fields such as sports, business, etc. Was stopped just after 1 minute

1. Asked about my poor B.Tech score compared to my X and XII scores - defended with a prepared reason

2. Where do you work, why did you quit? - Answered

3. Why was India rated higher than China in possible growth? - Answered and discussed finer points when asked further clarification

4. What is the population growth rate in India? - Don't know, asked Indian population then, which I answered. Again asked to guess the growth rate which i messed up by saying 6-7% 😞

5. Tell me the names of five European countries and their capitals - Answered but stumbled a bit at the last name

6.What is your CAT percentile and what other calls do you have? - Answered

Done. It lasted somewhere between 5-10 minutes and the questions were not asked in the exact same order as posted. Anyway, i felt the panel was cool and free to talk to. Best of luck to those who have their interviews today 😃

How many lines can you even make up in a minute? Frankly I'm a bit tensed about this whole extempore puys. I'm afraid I couldn't come up with some fancy points in that glorious thinking time of 10 sec 😛 . Plz help me out puys. Any tips?

can we submit new SOP????????

10/12/BE - 80.2/69.2/71.8

Work Ex - 27 months (Deloitte)

Panel(Board 4): 2 females(P1, P2) and 1 male teacher(P3).

Date: 16/04 8:30 AM Interview:

P2: So Rohit, Where are you coming from?

Me: Mam, I am working in Hyderabad but my hometown is in Ranchi.

P2: Does that answer my question?

Me: Mam, Did you meant where I am coming from today?

P2: Yes. When did you come to Delhi?

Me: Yesterday.

P2: Where are you staying?

Me: At a friend's place in Dwarka.

P2: Wow, thats too far from here. So you took metro to reach here?

Me: No mam, I took a cab.

P1: What? How much did he charge you?

Me: Mam, it was a free ride. I got a discount coupon.

P2: And you were smart enough to use it for the longest ride that you could have done.

P2: So we will now give you a topic and you can take 7-8 secs to think and then speak till we stop you.

Extempore Topic: 'Cuisine of Hyderabad'

Me: Started with Nizams, went to Biryani. Then talked about Paradise Chain, its history. Then talked about Kebabs and told that people of Hyderabad love spicy food. Then I stopped.

P1: Go on, you still have time.

Me: Started talking about other food joints. Some veg ones. But then was told to stop finally.

P2: Your grad is OK but your class 12 is not so good. You would have missed a few calls because of this.

Me: Yes mam, I missed out on IIM C and I.

P2: What business does your father do?

Me: Mam car rental.

P2: So that is how you got a free ride?

Me: No mam, I got a free ride from UBER. They give a free ride to every first time user.

P2: OK. Can you tell me the difference between ASEAN and SAFTA? Me: Told full forms and said mam I do not know much.

P2: Ok. Which is the regulating body of the world?

Me: WTO. P1: What was it previously called?

Me: GATT but I am not sure mam.

P2: Which area of MBA you want to specialize in?

Me: Mam, I want to go for a career in consulting, so I would like to do a general management.

P2: Do we have such a course in FMS?

P1: No we dont.

Me: Mam, I went through the course structure and saw that we are allowed to choose 5 electives in the second year. So I would choose some courses from each specialization so that I get a general management.

P2: OK, Which courses would you select?

Me: Named 3 related to strategy and analysis.

P2: What is strategy?

Me: Forming a long term goal and making plans to work towards acheiving the same.

P1: What strategy have you made so far?

Me: Mam, Like getting into FMS was my goal, so I took CAT and worked hard for this..

P3: Suppose the revenue of a company is falling. What would you as a strategy consultant do?

Me: Sir, Depends on what company it is.

P3: Assume general company. Might be any FMCG.

Me: Sir, first I would like to gather all the past data. Then I would analyse the data to see for a possible flaw/mistake. Suppose I got to know that the company is doing well with one of its product while the other is lagging behind, I would like to keep the sales of the first one intact while trying to push the sales of second one.

P1: Ok, Do you what this net neutrality is all about?

Me: (was well prepared for this) Talked about Internet.org and Airtel zero. Also talked about how it could lead to a monopoly in the future.

P1: What are the recent developments in this?

Me: Told about the TRAI consultation paper and how Flipkart's rating was getting downgraded and hence it had to pull out of the Airtel deal. Also told about cleartrip pulling out of internet.org.

P2: OK OK. I think we are done. All the best. Thank you Rohit.

Me: Thank you mam, thank you sir.

Verdict: God only knows.

Felt relaxed, This was the last interview of the season. Later in the evening I got a reject from A. Hoping that I convert FMS. 😃
