[2023] Which B-Schools should you apply to?

@MBAssasin said: What is the last date for CAT applicants those who are filling the XIMB forms?

Hey, the last date for CAT or any examination and the last date for filling XIMB or any other college will vary.

If you are asking that what is the last date to apply to XIMB through CAT, then I would suggest you to wait for notification to come from XIMB.

Some doubt, I am doing BTech so should I apply to TISS ? I have only seen that they have only M.A. and M.H.A and some other courses but I couldn't find MBA anywhere! Moreover I don't want to do MA after doing BTech. Seniors please shed some light on this.

is there a marked difference between the salaries bagged by bschoolers with work-ex and freshers .. even in the top rung colleges ???

If so what should we make of the average packages quoted..???

Not much, unless the work experience is relevant to the current job which is not so in most cases.

Average salaries are indicative of what you can expect from your job post MBA. Salaries however widely vary depending on the organization and the profile of the job.

Hey neo By what i see the criteria in the links sent by you..Den i dont think i stand a chance..Is it like getting a 95 percentile above in cat with a so so profile assure u a chance. Please let me know if u have any info on this..LeoN88

The word above average is very relative.

e.g A college X could be above average for you but for me it could be below average.

You can refer PaGaLGuY Rankings to get some idea.

I would list out the top colleges through CAT (as per PG Rankings) :

IIM's
FMS
IIT Bombay
SPJAIN
MDI
NITIE
IMT
MICA
IIT Delhi
IIT Kgp
XIMB
IIT Kanpur
KJ Somaiya
Great Lakes
Tapmi
IMI
Nirma
IIT Madras

followed by others.... !!

MFC could be a very good option if you want to study Finance.. !!

@[524246:Subsishere], there is an MBA course in TISS.I mean it is the one of the best colleges in India when it comes to HR. The name of the course is a bit different, but it is there.

I dont remember the exact name. May be Avinash can help you in this.

hi @[370697:avinashkrjha] when will spjain come out with its notification.

and ,secondly a silly query while filling the cat form do we get a new admit card every ttime we log in to check our account or only when we change or add some datathx in advance.

@[370697:avinashkrjha] and also apart from PGP what other programmes can we opt for being freshers.plz reply.

@[524246:Subsishere] TISS is one of the oldest & most renowned colleges, when it comes to several niche programs. Now, answering your question, the most popular course of TISS is M.A in Human Resource Management (HRM) & Labour Relations.Apart from this, they even have courses in development studies , social work , healthcare, disaster management, counselling and many more fields. Every year, thousands of B.Techs apply for this prestigious institute...and believe me,when it comes to HRM , it is one of the best in the country .For further clarification, plz go through the link below :)

1. SPJAIN could come up with it's notification in the month of September.

2. Only when you change your slot, you need to get another print of admit card showing the new slot. Hope it helps.

1. We cannot predict what will you score in CAT. Infact no one can. It all depends on how you perform on the given day.

2. But going by your score in AIMCAT's, you stand a high chance of scoring 95+ in Actual CAT. If you keep working hard, you could end up scoring 99+ as well.

3. I would suggest you to apply to all the Top B-Schools. Few of them could be : SPJAIN, NITIE (if you are an engg), MDI, IMT, XIMB, IMI, MFC/MBE, etc.

4. Apart from CAT, also apply to colleges taking from other exams. e.g XLRI, SIBM-Pune, SCMHRD, IIFT, NMIMS, etc.

5. There are few colleges you can apply to after the CAT Results are out. e.g IIT's, MIB/MHROD, etc.
