@manmauji89 said: @Subsishere TISS is one of the oldest & most renowned colleges, when it comes to several niche programs. Now, answering your question, the most popular course of TISS is M.A in Human Resource Management (HRM) & Labour Relations.Apart from this, they even have courses in development studies , social work , healthcare, disaster management, counselling and many more fields. Every year, thousands of B.Techs apply for this prestigious institute...and believe me,when it comes to HRM , it is one of the best in the country .For further clarification, plz go through the link below

But will it have the same weightage as MBA later on when we search for other jobs other than the one recruited?

Yes def it will have. As I already told, this course is highly ranked in India among the corporates as well.

@DJ_007 said: @avinashkrjha what about distance MBA, do you know any good college under CAT / XAT

I don't have exact idea regarding this. But have heard that some of the good options are distance MBA from XLRI, IGNOU, NMIMS, etc. Hope this helps.

Hi, I got
64% in 10th
54% in 12th
and 66% in my engineering.
I have a work experience of 37 months at a construction company.
What are my chances of an mba?
How much do I need to score in cat to get into a reputed college?

This you can know by logging with your user id and password. You can see all the dates on which CAT Exam is being conducted. Usually it's a 20 day window. But this year, it's 21 days. And I don't think you need to be tensed.

@[370697:avinashkrjha] after logging I get the info that my cat registration is complete but I wanted to know whether this new day was incorporated at the time of notification or all of a sudden (one or two days before).

As far as I know, it was incorporated at the time of notification only.

Hi all,

My query is specifically regarding the 'Profile Based List' that SP Jain opts for shortlisting even before the results of CAT exam are out.

What are my chances of crossing this line, considering a good show in CAT'12?

Here are my academic details :
10th : 77.0 (ICSE)
12th : 92.9 (State Board, AP)
B.Tech : 66.6 (after scaling CGPA into %) (CETB, a university college from Orissa)

Besides,
Work Exp : 24 months(till now) (IT Sector)

Thanks in advance :)

1. We cannot comment on the chances of you getting Profile Based Call from SPJAIN.

2. The profile can be anything from academics to extra-curricular, arts, sports, etc. So a lot depends on pool of applicants also.

@bikramnitj said: Hi guys... m jst new to this pagalguy forums.. and now thinking seriously to go for mba...got almost 3 years of experience in a renowned PSU.. My profile is as follows:Xth : 80.4%XII: 81.4% BTECH: NIT Jalandhar 70.7% Work ex:almost 3 years PSU handled good projects at commissioning stage..Please tell me which institutes would consider me...Thanks in advance

1. Your profile is good enough for almost any B-School in India.

2. If you score 97+, you can expect calls from few IIT's, MDI, IMT, XIMB, IMI, NITIE, etc.

3. If you can manage to get 99+, you can expect calls from few IIM's as well. All the Best.. !!

@[370697:avinashkrjha] Thank You :)
Even I'm finding my chances bleak in that regard.

Anyways, can you comment on the list of better colleges that finds any chance of having me in, w.r.t my academic details and say, a better result in the exam.

@[580533:saijayanth89]
To identify potential colleges where you can apply, you can start with the scores that you are getting in your mock CAT exams. If your score is around 75+, you can realistically expect a 90+ score in CAT.

You can then identify a set of colleges whose cut-offs range from 85+ to apply. Make sure you apply to those colleges where the last date for receipt of application falls before the date of declaration of CAT results. For the others, you can take a call after the results are declared.

Having set your mind to rest, you can then go all out and prepare for CAT 2012 to maximize your score. ATB

Seeing your academic details, you are fit for almost all the top b-schools in India. And it is suggested not to think much on those things. Focus on getting a good score in CAT and the rest will fall into place on it's own. ATB.. !!
