Hi,I have appeared my CAT on 15th Oct 2012 at 3.30PM slot.I have attempted 20-SecI and 25-SecII with 80% accuracy.Following are the details of my profile.10th-80.0%12th-69%BTech(Mech Engg)-74%Work Ex-48 months(in a reputed IT company)Mock score avg(TIME)-85%leI am reallly interested in Finance.This is my 3rd attempt in CAT.I have also appeared for NMAT this year.Expecting calls from NMIMS Bang and Hyd,but not Mumbai.Is it worthful to my experience.I am in dillema to which Bschools I should apply for.Can any body help me to sort out this problem and let me know list of Bschools I should apply based on my profile.Thanks in advance
Seeing your work-ex, I strongly suggest you to take up Top B-Schools only.
As per trends , you can expect a %ile of around 95.

NITIE (Just in case) (But not for finance)
IMT
MFC/MBE (More weightage to acads)
Other options can be thought of after CAT Results.
You can also think of doing Ex-MBA after one more year of work-ex.
@redd There is a new college in Pune called FLAME Business School. Along with MBA program you have option to study foreign languages. They have acres of land spread only for sports like GOlf, Basket ball etc. That prepare you to be future CEOs...
hi folks, i gave my cat on 31st oct evening slot,,what according to me was a difficult slot..they were only 2 formula based questions...attempted 12 from sec 1 and 22 from sec 2..assuming the accuracy to be 70% worst case scenario..what can i expect as my percentile..i know would be difficult to predict but a fair idea would be gud enuf..thank ya
@avinashkrjha What does a b-school like SP JAIN look into a aspirant's profile while making a profile based call....What is the generally good profile for these calls??
Is it compulsory to have certificates of extra-ciricullar activities, etc n all??

I am a hotel management graduate with average academics, no certificates of extra curricular or co-curricular......Work-ex of 2 yrs.Can i consider myself to be eligible for a profile based call after clearing cut-off???@avinashkrjha
@avinashkrjha Thanx a lot..... But still is it worth to take a chance and apply for it as they are conducting two interviews this year and would be calling 2500 aspirants as compared to 1800 of last year and they say that they will give more of the calls on profile basis this yr.....
Hi, I may be asking at wrong place or it may sound a very silly question, but I dont understand one thing. Why we have to apply to colleges even before the CAT result is out? Wouldn't it be better if people get an option of applying after they know their score. I've given CAT this year but I am not very sure about the %tile. I dont consider this as fair practice by colleges. All the MBA gurus here, please point me if I am missing anything in the process or Is is it another money pulling business?

Can't say for sure.
I think you should take a chance as it will accept XAT Score as well. And you might end up scoring very high in XAT.
