IIIFT screwed, just 33.xx.
plz suggest me, whether to write XAT or not this time...

@gladiatormiley : plz write xat so that you will have a fair idea about the paper with exam environment.....and still there is 35-40 days left for xat..so cover up the basics and dont make blind guesses in the exam...you will score above your expectations...ATB
@AbhiOfficial The PGDM courses are approved equivalent to MBA by AICTE, and so I'm not sure if there are any such issues. There are people I know in PG itself who have done PGDM from SPJAIN, IIM etc. and now doing PhD in leading universities outside India like NTU. @sb29 I think your views would be required here! :)
Difference in post PGPM (or 1 year MBA) profiles/roles, like I mentioned few posts back, it mostly helps in attaining better positions in the same industry (or same company sometimes) or getting into consulting. Moving into a completely new domain like Marketing, Operations etc. after say IT work exp I don't think its that easy.
Other top institutes with 1 yr courses - IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, IIML, XLRI, SPJAIN, some niche courses by MDI etc.
@fazer55 IISWBM is not worth it for investing 5-6 lacs.
Also the placement scenario and job profile offered if junior level.
Its better if you prepare well and try to apply for IIMs, XLRI, FMS .....
Sadly, Kolkata is not a good location for MBA.
Only B-school to be in Top 100 is IIM-C hence you can understand the situation.
Buddy, even I am looking for MBA in kolkata but planning to do in XLRI/XISS .
In 5 lacs you can do MBA from XISS which is one of the best for HR.......

Sorry sir but if you have less than 80% in grad then even if you get 99.5+ with 99+ sectional , there will be no place for you in IIMA.
One of my friends last year had 99.53%tile but no call from any of older IIMs inspite of having 80+ in schooling (but 60% in grad)..

With that kinda package you mentioned i would ask you to think above these colleges...you can even think of trying your luck in GMAT or go for executive mba if you have a good amount(years) of work-ex.
