1. Since you are scoring in the 90%ile bracket in the mocks ,I would suggest that you take a +2%ile range and apply to colleges i.e

MDI- Notification is already out.
IMT ghaziabad

2.As a back up also apply to the 88-90%ile bracket colleges

1. Although work ex does help but a break would not do you much ahrm if you can justify it.
Also a good score can veil all other negatives.

2. Colleges you apply to depends on your mock scores and the type of specialization you want to pursue.

Please Consider my Profile Below and suggest me as to which B-Schools could I apply this year?

Acads:

Xth : 72% [Maharashtra Board]

XIIth : 61% [Goa Board]

B.E (CSE) : 66% [VTU, Karnataka]

Work Ex:

26 Months currently, in Accenture Services Pvt Ltd as a Java EE Developer

Extra-Curricular/Sports : Average [6/10] :)

I have been giving IMS SimCAT mocks and TF Mocks this year.

I have given 6 SimCAT's as yet and have scored between 70 %ile to 83%ile n yes....83%ile is the best so far.

Tf mocks, only 2 given as yet percentiles averaging around 75-80 as well..

I have registered for almost all the Exams, this season..
1) CMAT [would be appearing twice]

2) CAT

3) NMAT [Once]

4) XAT

5) IIFT

6) SNAP

Considering that this would be my last attempt of doing MBA in India, which B-schools should

I apply to, keeping my Experience in mind as well..

Hi, Please help me as to which colleges am i eligible for application:


10th- 92% (commerce)
12th- 92.5% (commerce)
Grad- BBA Honors (under Calcutta University) Awaiting Part III results, scored 68% aggreagate in 1st 2 years...
Work Ex- 3 months as of now...will be more till the time i apply to various institutes...
Cat 2011- 70 percentile...(i had given it without much preparation and without any formal coaching)
Preparing hard to get a good score this time...

Was involved in plenty of extra curriculars in school and college...Do i stand a chance for Welingkar if i get between 80-85 in CAT (definitely aiming for more, but still)? and what minimum marks will i need to apply through CMAT???

And if not, then what other good colleges i can apply to? Preferably in Mumbai or Pune...

Please help...Thanx...

@supratimd916 Thanks for d reply. 😃 I mentioned abt no work expirience as i wanted to know abt clgs which do not highly emphasize on it. N i m hovering arnd 90 at this time in my mocks. Applying blindly to all those clgs wont b a smarter thing to do so want to shortlist a few in every category of my reach, coz i guess some will b out of my reach even if i try to be optimistic. As some clgs do consider overall profile wid a great deal. Nt sure abt specialization though very much interested in I.B.

Let's say a College X has 10% weightage to Work-ex and a College Y has only 2% weightage to Work-ex.

That doesn't mean that a Fresher should not apply to College X. You have other components as well. XAT/CAT Score, GD/PI, Acads, etc.

So don't think much about your Zero Work-ex. Focus on maximising your Score and performing well in GD/PI's. Apply to as many colleges as you can based on your expectation level and budget. ATB. Get back for any further query.. !!

1. If you get 80-85 in CAT, you def stand a high chance of being called by Wellingkar.

2. Through CMAT, there is no fixed cut off. Students are selected through Counselling after GD/PI's and using total score. (Check on the relevant PG Thread for more details)

3. Regarding Colleges in Mumbai and Pune :

Mumbai :

JBIMS (CMAT)
SPJAIN (CAT/XAT)
Sydenham (CMAT)
KJ-Som (CMAT/CAT)
Wellingkar (CMAT/CAT/XAT)

Pune :

SIBM (SNAP)
SCMHRD (SNAP)
SIIB (SNAP)
SITM (SNAP)
SIMC (SNAP) for MEdia and Comm
SCIT (SNAP)
NIBM (CAT)
PUMBA (CAT) Could be through CMAT as well
NIASOM etc..

2. Since this is your last attempt, I would suggest you to apply to as many good B-Schools as possible.

3. Right now, apply to all the decent b-schools which have deadline before the exam. For rest, you can decide based on your Exams and the Results.

4. As of now, apply to (whose notification are out)

CAT : MDI (from 5th Sep)
XAT : XLRI
SNAP : SIBM, SCMHRD

For rest, let the notification come.. !!

5. Seeing your profile, I won't suggest you to apply to colleges other than Top 40/50 in India.

If you are interested in IB, then do apply to these colleges
