@akki2711 - yes it's 100%, salary around 6.5-7 only..there is a high demand for such graduates.. XIMB (RM) is equally good but it's gd-pi process is very different, they really look for aspirants with such inclination.

@fazer55 For institute specific queries please PM the user or post in relevant help desk thread for the institute.
@fazer55 said:@abhimukh19 okk.. could u plzzz provide the links of the ranking of clgs(genuine rank)........???????
@jitrana said:are "mbauniverse" rankings not genuine?
There is NOTHING called "genuine" ranking. Every ranking has some methodology and all of them are different in some way or the other. In that sense itself ranks vary. So like abhimuch and avinash said, go thorough 3-4 different rankings and pick the consistent ones. Then again, don't go by those rankings blindly also. Once you have the list of consistently ranked institutes do a self research also, because the conditions & expectations from MBA for you will be different from the person/entity who did the ranking!!
But then yes, some ranks specifically favor certain institutes but one can't figure it out if not acquainted with the MBA education space for some time. So it remains to go through the methodology in detail and understand what exactly is being measured and flaws/mismatch, if any, according to you.
@ajaygovindg okk.. could u plzzz tell me whether i stand a chance at tapmi(manipal)... with 75-80percntile in cat.. i hv a decent acads till now and m frm engineering background.... what ws the lst yr cutt off??? and is it prfl based??
@fazer55 At a %ile of 75-80, you will have to be the Top Performer in GD and PI for getting a convert.
@fazer55 Like I said, for institute specific queries like their cutoff, selection procedure, placements etc. ask in the relevant thread listed at http://www.pagalguy.com/posts/4050080 or PM a senior.

Puys,
Could you give your proffer by looking at my profile, which colleges should i apply for getting calls??
Category: SC
10th: 71.60% (State board)
12th: 75.20% (CBSE)
B.Tech: 72.60%
Work-EX: 1 Year
Extra-curricular: fair amount of Participation
Expecting cat percentile as per my attempts: between 85 - 92 %ile.
@getintoiima if u really get a percentile b/w 85-92 then u will get calls from the b schools, dont know about IIM B criteria n al.. application procedure has already been closed for NITIE, FMS u must b knowing this. after cat results u can apply to IITs. u have fair enough chances to get selected for GD/PI, provided u get a good score
Someone was asking about MBA at NIT's few pages back. So I thought why not collate some information on the same for the benefit of all. 😃 I was searching around in PG and other places and there's very little information, but whatever feedback I read, majority are negative for an MBA from NIT except NIT Trichy!!
NIT Trichy
32 year old MBA program
CAT cutoff 89.83%tile
Rest all are either newly started MBA programmes and/or CAT cutoff's are low with average packages between 4-7lakhs. Then again fees is also very less there so in that sense it is good. Some information I could find on the MBA programmes at few other NIT's (I've listed only those where I could find some information regarding the cutoff) are given below. This is information collected from PG & various other websites, so it may not be fully correct, but I've tried to search in multiple places to verify what is given here. Please do further research before thinking of applying/joining any of the below.
NIT Durgapur
- CAT cutoff 60-70%tile
- Open for all grad streams. Around 90 seats in all. Not completely filled.
- Accepts CAT/CMAT scores
- Started 9 years back
- Major recruiter Coal India Limited

NIT Surathkal
- 6yrs old
- 1st list cutoff was 83%tile and final cutoff was 78%tile
- Approved seats of 60, but not completely filled.
- Fees - 2-2.5lakhs
- 5-10 companies visit for recruitment and everyone gets placed in them. Coal India Limited has been major recruiter (Guess they won't be going anymore because of Madras High Court Order).
- Salary in the range 4-9lakhs

@saikatha I applied to NITIE, FMS, MIB-MHROD and of course IIMs.....Apart from that, i would like to know what colleges should i apply more??
@getintoiima Application deadlines are over for almost all institutes under CAT, except BIMTECH and looking at your target institutes it is nowhere in the league!! :)
Wait for CAT results to be announced and you can look out for IITs, KJSOM, BIM T etc.
@fazer55 It completely depends on 2 things- 1) your profile 2) Your GD-PI performance
You really have to give an exceptional performance to get through.

@ajaygovindg One query about MBA at NIT Trichy: At most NITs, the placements are mostly PSU driven, like you said CIL. Is it the same scenario at NIT Trichy too? And please, average package at NIT_T please? Plus, any quota for TN students? (I'm not from TN 😛 )
