Since you are interested in economics and financial markets you can check out IFMR's Financial Engineering program and Developmental & Sustainable Finance Program. It might catch your imagination.

1. Based on your performance in AIMCATS, you can expect somewhere 90%ile.

1. Since you are getting around 90%ile in mocks aim for colleges in the range of 85%ile -92%ile.
Some coleges with IT/ops as a speciality are:
1. Great Lakes -1 year course-very good for it /ops
2.BIM,Trichy
3.GIM, Goa
4.Tampi
2.A non marathi student also stands a good chance as K.J somaiya has a PGDM program also and this program has no reservation.

1. SCM has a very good scope in India. With the FDI in retail bill in the pipeline you can definitely say it has a lucrative future.Also companies like Flipkart.com and many other have made this field highly competitive and challenging. So do not worry about the scope.

Do I stand a chance to get a call from SP Jain if I clear the cut off score set by SP jain...?I guess it gives a profile based call...

SP Jain gives both profile based and regular calls based on CAT/XAT scores.
1.For profile based calls minimum requirement is 85%ile. Such a profile should have additional qualifications like CFA or FRM or something that stands out.
2.For regular calls %ile should be above 95. In case of regular calls also a good profile is required i.e acads should be strong through out and proper extra curricular activities should be present.

Hi All,
jst joined the group 2 days back.Hence,this is my 1st post with a little introduction of mine and my area of interests.I am not much of a speaker,particularly demure in nature,so please pardon me for my mistakes.

10th - 90.2%(CBSE)
12th - 90.2%(Orissa Board)
Btech - 78.9%(BPUT)
State Level Junior Maths And Science Olympiad(10th Rank Holder) and 2-3 modelling assignments(Part Tym in College) are the only extra cirricular activities worth mentioning for me.
Well,I graduated in 2010,was contempt enough with my placement in TCS,thus just appeared for CAT'09 with a poor score of 53 percentile(91-LR/DI,19-VA/VR,37-QA)
Its been 1.7 yrs in tcs,being on the top of everything from Band(Highest one can get),to salary,to what not.Its not that I am much talented,its just that I grasp things much earlier than others and I am quite dedicated towards my work,hence the outcome.
But as everyone says,sooner or later u gonna hate it.I dnt hate it,I just dont see any growth with it.Also,I have never seen any of my seniors happy,not even at the top of its levels.
So finally decided to opt for mba,the reason mostly being career growth,handsome salary packages and an inner zeal to prove myself(If anyone can,I can)
Have been following the forum for 2 days now,cudnt find any spot to introduce myself rather than this(Indroduce Yourself thread being closed and all),hence spitting out everythin over here.Seeing the level of preparation and the enthu among the guys,I can tell I am lagging much behind in preparation(started in the last week of July).Just completed my initial prep on theories and now will be solving mock papers over a period of 2 months.Haven't appeared for any AIMCAT as yet.
But nothing to be sorry of,as I have 1 more year in my hand,and to get what I want,I have to start early.So,today be it.
This year around I am aiming for around 95-96% in CAT which will give me a moral boost for next year.
I am very much interested in banking(anything related to money),Operations and System Management of course,as I have acquired quite a bit within my 1.7 yrs of job.
This time around I am appearing for CAT,XAT and SNAP and applying for XIMB(decided till yet),as I want to have a PI experience as well before next year.
If u can please suggest me a list of colleges best in the above specialisations with the cut-offs for the same and any suggestions on applying any other colleges this tym?

Yaar I can't possibly offer any suggestions based on one's profile. I'd say if you feel it's your year, go all out and fill whichever form you hear of 
As for the criterion you mentioned, I think you are talking about Application Rating system which was followed by IIM-A last year and I think they have it this year too.
Goes like this,
Xth- 80+ ---> 3
XIIth-80+ --->3
B.Tech-80+--->3
Multiply all three, you get 27
Now incase someone has done PG too +3 for that as well
Also depending on the no of years of work ex, max one can get is 3 . So max possible AR=33
Score well in your CAT and you have odds in favour that you might get the coveted call

Love Quant & okay in Verbal, though scoring more in Verbal due to time constraints in Quant section.

2. You can target the colleges with OBC Reservations like IIM's, IIT's, IIFT (if you have filled), MFC, MBE, NITIE, etc.
3. Besides that, if you are confident of a Score of 96-97+, you can apply to MDI as well.
