Hi All,

jst joined the group 2 days back.Hence,this is my 1st post with a little introduction of mine....... I have 1 more year in my hand,and to get what I want,I have to start early.So,today be it.

This year around I am aiming for around 95-96% in CAT which will give me a moral boost for next year.

I am very much interested in banking(anything related to money),Operations and System Management of course,as I have acquired quite a bit within my 1.7 yrs of job.

This time around I am appearing for CAT,XAT and SNAP and applying for XIMB(decided till yet),as I want to have a PI experience as well before next year.

If u can please suggest me a list of colleges best in the above specialisations with the cut-offs for the same and any suggestions on applying any other colleges this tym?

1. For Operations in the range of 90+ %ile --> IIT Bombay (98.73%ile cut off), SPJAIN (Profile Based and around 96+), NITIE (97+) are well known colleges. XIMB is also a good option. Other IIT's come next. Cut off %iles are 90+ for all IIT's.

2. For Finance --> Apart from IIM's, MFC (90+), MDI (approx 95), IMI (90), etc.

3. For knowinf cut off %iles of last year of Top B-Schools, refer this --> http://www.pagalguy.com/forums/cat-and-related-bschools/2012-which-b-schools-should-you-apply-t-83927/p-3594168/r-3607915

Based on my profile what colleges should I apply to through CAT or other exams?
Also, if you could tell me about the 27 or 30 point criteria that IIMs follow to shortlist candidates for PIs.

If you can give some idea about your Mock Percentiles, then we could give you some idea about the colleges.

1. For cut off's, Refer this post --> http://www.pagalguy.com/forums/cat-and-related-bschools/2012-which-b-schools-should-you-apply-t-83927/p-3594168/r-3607915

2. Avg Pkg :

MFC - Approx 9
MBE - Approx 8
MIB/MHROD - Approx 6.5

3. Very Low Fee

4. Faculty - Decent

5. For 3 year Exp guy (IT), it is very difficult to change your domain from IT to Sales, marketing or may be Fin in any B-School in India (not impossible though). These colleges are specialised colleges. So it can be of some advantage but you have to get ready to compete with people from relevant background. ATB.. !!

It is expected to happen on the same lines as MAH-CET because now onwards, CMAT is replacing MAH-CET.

For more details, I would suggest you to go through PG Threads of Mah-Cet of last years.

Hey. I have applied for online MAT. My exam is day after tomorrow(8th September) and this is my first attempt for any of the B-school exams and I am bit worried.So please answer my few questions below:

1) How many questions should i attempt to get a percentile above 95 ?
2) What should be the minimum percentile I should achieve so as to get into a good college via MAT ?
3) I have heard that MAT is not as good as other exams(CAT, XAT, IIFT, CMAT), I mean to say that even if you score good percentile its not worth it as the colleges under MAT are not that good. Is it true ?

I am not sure how good IMI is for a CA? Can anyone help?

1. One cannot comment on this as it depends on how many questions you get right and also the difficulty level of the paper.

2. You are expected to score at least 95 so as to get a decent college through MAT.

3. True. Colleges accepting MAT Scores are not among the Top B-Schools in India. There are few colleges worth. For details, refer --> http://www.pagalguy.com/forums/mat-cmat-and-state-exams/2012-13-good-mat-business-schools-t-82183/p-3509322

That depends on your expectations.

You can put your query here in order to be answered by Students of IMI --> http://www.pagalguy.com/forums/mba-in-india/imi-notifications-2013-out-t-85438/p-3601625

@avinashkrjha

Thanks a ton sir.

Just a last question, is it worth going for those 95 percentile above colleges via MAT ?
