Guys, Jst a small doubt. It's really bothering me. After my 10th, I did not do my 12th. Instead I did diploma in a specialized mech engg branch and later completed a Engg degree in Mechanical. Now the doubt is, since i have done diploma instead of 12th would it create a problem if I want to try for the IIM's, Provided I clear cat with a good percentile??
I scored:
Xth - 82.24%
Diploma (intermediate) - 79%
any help would be appreciated.. :)

1. Seeing your AIMCAT Scores, you can expect to get anything from 80 to 95+ on the D-Day. Would suggest you to put in your best efforts from now on and I am sure you can do well.
2. As of now, you can apply to : MDI, IMI, XLRI. Notifications are already out for these colleges.
3. You should also apply to : XIMB, MFC, MBE, IMT, SIBM-P, SCMHRD, GIM.

Grad. 65% till 6th sem (B.E.)Additional facts- have been scoring in the 93-96 percentile range in CL mocks.
I have applied for the IIMs (CAT), IIFT, NMIMS and XLRI (XAT).
Which more b-schools should I apply to considering the fact that I am not quite hopeful about the IIMS because of their anti-general-engineering-fresher-guy stance and my not so great grad percent?

sir i am 3rd year b.tech(cs) student of uptu currently in 5th semester,my acadamics are as follows:
10th:76.5(UP BOARD)
12th:73.4(UP BOARD)
B.tech:65%(till 4th semester)
extra-activities: 2 times essay writing comp. winner (hindi),my project was selected among 12 students of district for national science congress at regional level,assistant co-ordinator at college tech fest
sir i don`t want to do the IT job.I have already read gdpi experiences of top 20 b-schools since past 15 days ,i found that it is very difficult to get in to top 20 with such profile that i have and also i have two year gap after 12th ,it appears that only work- ex candidates can get through with average colleges(although mine is below average), sir please suggest me can i get calls from top 20 b-schools with that kind of profiles without work-experience,and what areas should i concentrate with my profiles ............

1. Profiles without work ex that are selected have to be academically very strong.
2.Also if your extracurricular achievements are really good ,like if you were an NTSE scholar or played ranji for the state then your profile can get selected.
3.You can support your profile by doing specialized courses like CFA,FRM,CA,CS etc

For Ex-MBA, it's worth doing from Top B-Schools only.
Not every B-School offers Ex-MBA. So, apart from IIM's, you will be left with only few options. Check them out and take a call based on factors like Location, Ranking, Fee, etc.
This is totally my view. Suggest you to consult others as well. ATB.. !!
