hi all....
m currently working with a navratna PSU (total wrk ex of 24 months till date).
now i'm very specific with the kind of job i wud be targetting after MBA, and that would be 'consulting'
acads : 10th - 88%, 12th - 86%, Grad - 73% (in Mechanical Engineering)
CAT'11 - 93.11 percentile (just on a trial basis)
Now,
1. What kind of profile does SPJAIN wishes to c in its candidates ?? I havent represented at national level.Have headed commitees and socities at school and college level.
2. VA is hitting me hard in AIMCATS due to which overall percentile fluctuating from 75 to 94. Wat needs to be done.
3. Is SJMsom a decent option than MDI and IMT-G keeping in concern the job profile m tragetting ??

2. Don't let your confidence level go down due to this. For VA, reading more and more is the only solution apart from the mocks you give.
3. Would suggest you to check the placement report of SJM-SOM and MDI for this.
hi everyone... i am really worried right now.. i have got 83% in 10th and 53% in 12th...even if i get 99+percentile... do i have even a remote chance of getting through in iims or xlri... please help..!!!

1. For IIM's, it could be very tough. Try to score as much as possible in CAT 2012 and leave everything to destiny as the marks you scored before is not in your hands now.
2. If you score very good in XAT 2013, you should have a decent chance at XLRI. All the best.. !!
@tanmoy87 said: I secured 89% in Xth, 85% in XIIth and 82% in BSc ... which colleges shall i apply to? I have work ex of 2 years....
1. You are eligible to apply to any B-School in India apart from the one's which have B-Tech as their eligibility criteria.
2. Your question would be more apt if you provide your average Mock Score after 1 or 2 months.
@Anivesh90 said: I took two aimcats--scored 93.6 and 97.2will i get 99+ in actual cat and an iim call?my profile10th 76.4%12th 79.6%Btech 62% (till 3rd year)& also please can some one tell me, is profile of my college also taken into account if i get a call from any iim.. (my college is a bekaar local engg. college and also 90% of the students are from the city itself)
1. The AIMCAT Scores looks to be decent at this stage. But you need to maintain it or rather improve as number of test takers will be increasing now.
2. If you keep on scoring in the range of 93-97 in every AIMCAT, I am sure you will end up scoring 99+ in Actual CAT.
3. Profile of your college does come into consideration at a later stage in interviews but there is not much loss and you need not worry even if you are from a local engg college.
4. All the best... !!!

@tushar100p said: thanks ... i know that sp jain takes one list on profile... and the other on the scores... so at least scoring a sufficiently high percentile in cat should get me through to sp jain regardless of my past acads...
1. One list is totally profile based for which you need to score at least 85 %ile.
2. For the other list you need to score high but those calls are also profile based. But the weightage given to profile is less.

Thanx in advance....PS- had it been d old pagalguy interface,i wud hav surely got lots of groans for dis long post......but cant help....
1. You have a very good chance to get calls from Top 10 B-Schools if you keep performing like this.
2. Your graduation college and year gap doesn't play a role for almost all the Top B-Schools as far as giving GD/PI Call is concerned.
3. For final convert also, it should not be a point of worry as long as you are able to justify the reasons for your Gap.
4. There could be quite a few reasons to defend. But you need to stand by your points through out your interview. I would suggest you to be honest in the interviews.
5. Right now don't think much about GD/PI's. Concentrate on getting a very good score. All the best... !!
alright... thnx so much... so what i am reading between the lines is... i dont have great chances at these institutes.. even with high percentiles ... i am a fresher.. with really bad past acads 82 in 10th and 53 in 12th ... are there any colleges in the top 20 that would let me through on my cat scores ... i am sorry if am being too bugging.. i have been hearing horror stories of how 99+percentilers dont get through and am getting really stressed out... really appreciate your help... thanx again..

2. So it is suggested that you focus completely on getting as much high score as possible.
3. There are few colleges in top 20 with very less weightage to Marks. So you can def get into those colleges.
4. All the best.. !!
