I like the consultancy field and my interest areas are analytics and finance. Please suggest.Thanx in advance.

1. Seeing your marks and work-ex, you are eligible to apply to all the Top B-Schools in India.

2. Right now, register for all the exams (CAT,XAT,NMAT,IIFT,SNAP,etc) and then seeing your performance in mocks, you can decide which all B-Schools to apply.

3. Seeing your interest in Finance, you can apply to SPJAIN, MFC.. !!

You will get a better response if you post your query in this thread : http://www.pagalguy.com/forums/mat-cmat-and-state-exams/2012-13-good-mat-business-schools-t-82183/p-3509322

Thanx alot for your advice. As far as my performance is considered , i am scoring 90+ in cl mocks and have touches 98 mark in 2 mocks. And SNAP , NMAT as all my friends are suggesting, should be ruled out. What would you suggest ?

1. That is decent going. Try to maintain this through out your mocks or rather take it up further.

2. You should give a shot at all the Top B-Schools.

3. I would def suggest you to give NMAT and SNAP as well. NMIMS, SIBM-Pune and SCMHRD are in Top 20/25 B-Schools of India.

4. Not joining later on can be an option, but I feel one should apply to as many colleges (obv as per meeting expectations) if finance is not a constraint.

5. All the best.. !!

@avinashkrjha said: 1. The AIMCAT Scores looks to be decent at this stage. But you need to maintain it or rather improve as number of test takers will be increasing now. 2. If you keep on scoring in the range of 93-97 in every AIMCAT, I am sure you will end up scoring 99+ in Actual CAT. 3. Profile of your college does come into consideration at a later stage in interviews but there is not much loss and you need not worry even if you are from a local engg college. 4. All the best... !!!
Thank you for your help....

1. Chances cannot be predicted just on the basis of your marks and work-ex.

2. You are eligible to apply to almost every B-School in India.

3. Now seeing your mock scores and your expectation level, you can apply to the colleges at a later stage. Get back for any further query.. !!

Different colleges have different application windows. Some close their application window before the CAT exam as well. By registering for CAT 2012, you will automatically be applying to all the IIMs, provided you check the check boxes in front of the names of the various IIMs. However, you have to register 'individually' for all the colleges you wish to apply to. You can visit the individual college websites for the same. Here are the top 90 colleges (2011) according to TIME: http://time4education.com/List_of_Top90-Schools.asp You can apply to as many colleges as you want to, given money is no constraint! Atb!

@[559420:Phoenix2687] thanx,, how much do we have to pay approx per college????

Yes First You have to register your name for CAT (Buy the Brochure ) and register http://www.catiim.in/
Then the colleges will start their own registration process where you have to apply online/by post...Be active on PG you'll get all the notifications of B-School, their reg. process, last date to apply, probable CAT Cutoffs..You can apply to as many Clgs. as possible...there are some colleges like IIT where you can apply later after CAT result...

That depends... On an average 1500-2000 per college(It is a little cheaper for IITs). Now there are some colleges that charge for individual course, as in XIMB.... So choose wisely :)

Often the first job is a big let down for most students. This is because there is a big gap between reality and expectations. Resign from your job only if it is hindering your CAT preparations. Otherwise hold on and try to get the most out of your organization. It will help you in your interviews.

Remember, things are not going to change in the workplace just because you are a management graduate. You will have to move into a job profile that matches your interest and ambitions. ATB

The september CMAT is close, so here are a few facts about cmat for those unaware of it..:

it will be accepted by many good bschools including the likes of jbims, simsree, kj somaiya and welingkar under the dte, maharashtra; goa inst of management, great lakes to name a few..
it is a three hour test with just 100 questions including 25 of gk which hardly takes any time; this means this test is not based on time and hence people who know to solve problems can take there time and get good scores.. the september edition is predicted to see lesser registrations and hence will be easier to score higher rank and will be valued in a similar way to the march 2013 edition..
have a good hold on gk, including some history, founders, ceo's, etc etc..:)
all the best... get back for any further queries regarding cmat..:)

@[503629:iconavi22] : Is it sure they are having sept-cmat? i mean by this time the notification should be out as its hardly 1.5 months..

yah its there for sure.... notification will be out soon...:)

@avinashkrjha said: Only work ex is not a part of profile. Some of the other things that can make a profile good are : 1. Excellent academic profile 2. Renowned name of the college you graduated from (Like IIT's, St Stephens, etc..) 3. Extra-curricular achievements And other achievements if any.
