Hi,
@[316381:visionIIM-ACL] I am quite confused with the kind of specialization i should do?Though i want to do MBA in HR i dont know much about it..how are the job prospects after doin an MBA in HR,am i fit for it or not, what are the skills required to do mba in hr..which b-schools to apply for to do mba in hr etc.Is it okay to do general/core MBA/PGDM which i suppose doesnt have any kind of specialization?which specialization has the best job prospects and which has maximum competition?if u can answer these questions or give me some idea as to how go to about with choosing a specialization it would be of great help..thanks

You have decent trak record of marks. And since you also belong to OBC NC, you have a good chance to get call from IIM's if you score well in CAT(around 90/95+).
Apart from that, it is very difficult to say the colleges where you should apply until you tell about your mock scores.
But you should def apply to all the Govt Colleges where OBC NC has a quota.
Some of them being :
FMS,
IIT's,
MFC/MBE,
MIB/MHROD, etc..

I try to improve my CG above 8...How shd i improve my performace in AIMCAT(in percentile) to get into IIMs....
1. Let us know your Mock Percentiles and then we will be able to say something regarding your chances of making into IIM's.
2. Over the years, the exam pattern for VA has changed from English Language Test to English Usage Test. So the only way is to read, read a lot and read diverse subject matter. The more and more varied books or magazines you read, the more comfortable and familiar you become with words and their usage.
3. All the best.. !!

1. MFC/MBE/MIB/MHROD are colleges under Delhi University with very nominal Fee and decent placements.
MFC : Masters in Finance and Control
MBE : Masters in Business and Economics
MIB : Masters in International Business
MHROD : Masters in Human Resources and Org Devlopment
Check the websites for more details.
2. There is no OBC Quota at MDI, GUDGAO.. !!

It looks simple and easy but not so to decide on which B-School to apply for. Placements and ROI certainly are not the basis at all. Everything depends on "Deserve and Desire" formula. The first consideration, of course, is your own percentile scores in CAT, XAT, and other tests. When you score a decent level, you have a wide choice of best B-Schools but the results will be known only by Jan-Feb end unless you have a GMAT score. In the process you may end up spending for application forms, coaching centre and other preparatory expenses. To be on safe side, one may have to apply / prepare for 4-5 Schools of his or her range of scores. Certainly there is nothing like 'luck' factor because even after a good performance in Acads/Entrance Test level, GD/PI will be a decider too.
