Hi

12th State Board - 96.2%
Engineering - 75%

Working- 12 months exp..

CL mock scores hovering around 88-92%..

Which colleges should i apply fr? I have to join a good MBA school this year { a bit desperate :)}

As said by @[563226:mbajamesbond] , there are quite a few colleges in Top 20 that has more focus on CAT %ile and not on the profile. But for final conversion, profile does come into consideration. In few college, the weightage is less while in others, it is more.

MDI is one college which i can say for sure is totally CAT%ile based. Score high CAT %ile and get a seat there. All the best.. !!

Thanks a lot for replying. May I know the Top-30 colleges which come under the jurisdiction of the CMAT exam? I apologize for my ignorance

Last year only few colleges accepted CMAT Scores. This year it might increase.

According to last year, few top B-Schools which accepted CMAT Scores are :

JBIMS, Mumbai
Sydenham, Mumbai
KJ-Somaiya, Mumbai
GIM-Goa
Wellingkar

1. You have a decent academic track record.

2. Your mock scores are also good. Try to improve further and take it upto 95 or even more than that.

3. You are good to apply to all the Top B-Schools in India.

4. Keep working hard. All the best.. !!

I've gone through the previous threads where in which I came across the fact that SPJAIN would call students based on the profile and 85+.

Would my profile qualify for such a call? Not being pessimistic about the final score that I might get ,but just want to know.

If I might ask another query, which colleges will I manage to get a call from, with a final percentile around 93-96.

1. It looks dificult. Becaus marks is not the only criteria for the Profile Based Call. You need to have some out of box achievement. It could be in the field of arts, sports, literature, etc.

2. If you score a %ile of 93-96 in CAT, you can manage to get GD/PI call from following colleges :

IMT, GZB
IMI
NIRMA
FORE
KJ-Somaiya
TAPMI
LBS
UBS
BIM-T
NIT-T
FMS-BHU
MFC
MBE
MIB
MHROD

Borderline

MDI
IIT K
IIT R
IIT M
IIT-Kgp
XIMB

If you score 93-96 in XAT, you will def get a call from GIM and could get from XLRI,XIMB if you clear the sectional scores.

3. All the best.. !!

I had a query regarding filling up of graduation marks.
I have completed my graduation in Engg.
So only the final year percentage is to be considered or the aggregate of four years is to be considered ??

Aggregate of all the 4 years is to be mentioned unless your university follows some other rule to calculate overall graduation marks.

Cheers!

If the same is mentioned in your graduation certificate ( or if marks are mentioned ), then go ahead with filling the same in forms. 😃

Thank U :)
And here are my past

AIMCAT percentiles

1317-58.9
1316-84.3
1315-48.13
1314-42

Marks for AIMCATs
1313-50
1312-53

My percentile s around 40 to 50 in AIMCAT 😞 but managed to 84.3 % in 1316...
I ll surely work harder 4 d upcoming aimcats!

I desperately want to get into IIM :(
10th: 89%
12th: 83%
graduation in Comp. Sci (Mumbai Univ.): 68%

Based on my profile, pl. suggest the b-schools i should look out for. Also comment on the restrictions which could possibly be imposed because of my academic record.

1. Based on your profile, you can look out for any B-School in India.

2. But in few Top B-Schools, lot of weightage is given to previous academic record. e.g. IIM-K.

3. So in order to get calls from such B-Schools, you might have to score a higher %ile in CAT.

4. Also, there are few colleges which have more weightage for Work-Ex. So in those colleges also, you need to score a bit more in CAT/XAT.

5. All the Best.. !!

You def need to work much harder if you wish to crack IIM's. You still have 80 days to go and if you put in your efforts, you can def make it. All the Best.. !!

P

The best colleges that you can apply also depends upon your performances in mock and your own expectation level from the college. So if you can say something about that, we can help you out.

As far as your grads marks is concerned, there are few colleges where you won't be eligible to apply. Apart from that you are good to go for most of the B-Schools in India.
