You have average grades so I would suggest that you apply to SP. Jain through the general process rather than the profile based process.

@swap747 said:@supratimd916whats the general process..? sorry for my ignorance..
There is no process specific as such.
You just need to apply online.
Visit the SPJIMR Website for all the details.. 😃

General process is where you application is weighted on the basis of CAT score only and not on the basis of profile.
Need serious guidance:
I am taking CAT this time and not aware of intricacies in admissions. Need guidance and tips on what to expect and how to cope with formalities; IF i manage a fair score

1. Admission process of various colleges have started or are going to start very soon. Some colleges window get closed before CAT results eg. NITIE, MDI,XIMB etc. To others you can apply even after CAT results.
2. To apply for colleges whose window gets closed before CAT results use your mock results . Mock results will be able to give you a picture about your main result. Add +2%ile to the mock result and see if you are clearing the cut off or not. If you are above the cut off then do apply otherwise wait .
Please feel free to ask if you have anymore queries.

@StadiumArcadium SP Jain's criteria of selection is by far one of the most complex I've ever seen. In the past it has happened that guys got a call in the first time they applied but didn't got the call in the 2nd year even after adding one more year of work-ex and some certificates. The entire motive of giving this information is to make you know the reality of b-schools admission criteria. You could never be sure of getting or not getting a call at a certain percentage. So, the whole essence is- your 72% only can't get you the call. It's your overall profile which helps in getting the call. If you think your overall profile is good, apply :)

@abhijeetranjan9 Your overall profile looks good. Apply to SPJain and FMS now. After the CAT results are announced, you can apply to IMT.

It would have been better if you could have given a few mocks as it prepares you for the main exam and also gives you an idea about where you stand.
