But ur post regarding "heavy work-ex" is a little scary one. i have 30 months work-ex (by dec).
but as u said that its common everywhere dont know what to say ...

@AbhiOfficial I suggest you not to worry. Majority of the Junta has IT Work-Ex. So you won't be alone in the Race. And everyone does well by putting in efforts. So, don't feel demotivated. Cheers.. !!

Okay.. i know its kinda late to ask.. but i just wanted toknow while filling up CAT forms, is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to check YES on the "ARE YOU APPLYING TO OTHER INSTITUTES" question..

I dont remember if i did .. so does that mean my scores wont be sent to any institute other than the IIMS?

Hi Guys,
My acads aren't that great.
10th - 80% (CBSE)
12th - 66.6%
B.E (Mechanical) - 57%
I am working in a small Indo-French software development company Alphaflexi since July 2011. (Note change in field)
I haven't been doing too good in AIMCAT's securing around late 50's to early 60's. My MAT scores are pretty good though, however irrelevant they maybe. I have gotten 98.6 and 95.15 percentile.
In CAT 2011, I secured 73.5 percentile, with zilch preparation.
My exam is scheduled on Friday, November 2nd, which means I still have around 15 days to work my ass off, and I will do that, which I hope will land me a score in the 80's.
Can you tell me if my profile is good enough to get into the following colleges.
1) TAPMI, Manipal
2) XIME, Bangalore
3) Alliance University, Bangalore
4) Great Lakes, Chennai
5) IFIM, Bangalore
6) Christ University, Bangalore

Also, any other colleges which you guys think I should apply to?

Help will really be appreciated.

@avinashkrjha dude the cutoffsyou mentioned for snap based colleges are percentiles are raw scores or percentiles ..can you tell me the cutoffs of other snap based colleges like sitm,scit etc,,thanks in advance

@supreetkini i think you can apply to christ ,ifim and alliance on the basis of your mat scores..for others i think you require cat

It is not necessary as far as I know.

You anyways need to apply separately to the Institute other than IIM's.

1. TAPMI- It gives a call to everybody but in the GD-PI round acads, CAT scores are taken in to consideration.
2. XIME- 75%ile is the cut off.
3. Great lakes - requires more than 2 years experience for its flagship PGPX program. For the 2 year course the cut off was 85%ile.The 2 year program has started last year only.
4. Your acads are average so I would suggest that you concentrate on getting a good %ile in CAT .
5.Apply to colleges in the 75-85 %ile bracket like IMT nagpur, BIMTECH, SDMIMD etc.

They are the Raw Scores out of 180 in SNAP.

For SITM, it was somewhere near 60 and for SCIT, it was even lower.

Yes, they will have access to your Score Cards. You need not worry regarding that.

If you clear the cut off %ile, you would def be given a GD/PI Call.. 😃

IF we apply to IMT GHAZIABAD through CAT, we have a option to send our scores to IMT nagpur & hyderabad as well.. , means in that 1750 application fees we aaply 3 colleges.. is it same with applying through cmat ? though it is acceptable only at NAGPUR & HYDERABAD, but still do both own same app fees

See your acads are average so to straighten your chance focus on CAT for the time being. FMS and MDI give huge weightage to the CAT score . So work on it and your chances of conversion will definitely increase .

hey.. i am a 3rd year student.
in 10th i got 92 %
in 12th-68 %
in collg. my cgpa is oscillating bwn 5.50 to 6.50...
but i have certificates in sports and extra curricular
is it possible to aim for mdi..xlri ...fms ?
or can u please suggest the b schools that dont give much wieghtage to acads? do reply please!

As I already said you can definitely get a call from MDI if you do well im CAT (above 95 for call and above 98.5 for conversion). A call from IIMs would be difficult as they give a lot of focus on acads and your acads are average.
