1. You definitely stand a chance in all the 3 institutes provided you perform well in CAT/XAT.

2. FMS and MDI donot attach very high weightage to acads like other colleges.

3. extra curriculars are good only if they are of national level or some additional certification.

ATB!!
@riya1163 : just focus on the respective written examinations, once you are through for GD/PI process you can secure plenty of guidance from fellow puys on how you can overcome and clinch a premier b school with medium academics. All the best :)

which are the best colleges for finance..besides the IIMs and FMS?

Hello Fellow Puys,

Are there any other good colleges which run a Communications Management course like MICA?? If yes, kindly list the suitable ones....!! I am a NIFT graduate with 3 yrs of work ex..
@Akmbaspirant : Communication Management is a very niche course and MICA is the best in that field. Apart from that you can also apply to other well known institutes such as SIMC (Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication), IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication), AJ Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre and Xavier Institute of Communication. Since you have a work experience of 3 years apart from being a NIFT graduate, it will be very nice if you aim for MICA and crack it. All the best 😃

Obviously good. You don't have to see anything for these colleges --> IIM's, XLRI, etc.

@avinashkrjha thank you..

Puys today I received application form from alliance university Bangalore and there in the form I saw I was eligible for 70% scholarship(sports quota) which made me restless whether to apply for it or not...Please suggest how good is alliance university If one will get his MBA in only 3 lakhs rupee....Also are there any other colleges which provide such type of scholarships....

Which colleges to apply on a score of 226 and a rank of 2000 in CMAT with OBC quota???

Hi Puys.

Need your assistance to guide me :

My profile : 10th 77.5 % ICSE

12th 54.1 %

After 12th 5 Years of work experience (3 Yrs BPO and 2 years Admin)

BBA - Final Year Average 82%

MAT Feb 2012 score 95.87%ile

Applying for CAT,MAT,XAT,SNAP,IIFT,IBSAT this year.

Need to clarify 3 things before admission.

1. Will my 5 years gap in education after 12th create hurdle during admission.

2. Will my gap in education create problem during placements ?

3. Does good colleges like XLRI & IIMs take students from Sikkim Manipal University graduates ?

everything looks gr8 but sadly your BPO stint wont be counted as experience

try scoring as much as possible in all entrances

@xxx031188 :Though I have no authority to judge on how good Alliance University is, but I would like to highlight a few facts. Deciding to choose an MBA college is in itself a bigger challenge than securing the seat by fighting your way. You will do an MBA once in your lifetime and hence would like to do so in the best possible institute under the given circumstances. Kindly give least weightage to the fees component while choosing an institute. See if the institute has a well established brand name, how are its alumni faring, what is the perception of the prospective candidates about that institute, infrastructure, faculty, quality of placements etc.
Once you are sure of all these aspects then choose and I'm sure you will make a just and wise choice. All the best :)
