1. There are many good B-Schools in Eastern India. Some of them being : IIM-Joka, IIM-Ranchi, XLRI-Jamshedpur, IIFT-Kolkata, IIM-Shillong, NIT-Durgapur, IISWBM-Kolkata, XISS-Ranchi, etc..

@[581157:pram85] but it was actually done after my 3 yrs of course, and bridge course just authenticates that whatever i did in those 3 yrs is counted on my graduation profile....just the date on cert is 2012, even the earlier semester marks are of the one from my course, only the last sem is added in 2012....

i have very low academics... 10th -68% and 12 -62% .... i am scoring 90%+ in mocks... there is still any any chance to iims if a get a 98%+ in cat

buddy, ur degree ends up only wid ur last sem... ur degree will alwyz convey tht u cmpltd ur graduation in 2012.... u cnt prove nythng until nd unless u r face to face wid sm1.... nd tht wl happn nly during pi's... nd mrovr if u mention smwhr tht u hv 2 yrs workex nd ur degree shws tht u hv cmpltd ur graduation in 2012... chances r tht ur application cld be rejected.... not accepting the reality will never help ur cause bro...

surely dre are.... many f d iim's don't hv such issues with eligibility norms if u r scoring high enough fr d cutoff....

As pram85 said, there are def chances if you score very high in CAT. It could be very tough to get into IIM A or B, but there are good chances in other IIM's if you score high CAT %ile... !!

But it would be very difficult to manage your family business along with doing MBA. And you def can't manage if you wish to do MBA from Top B-School. So I would still suggest you to think on this.

In India, only those colleges offer an MBA degree that are affiliated to some university. Institutes that are not affiliated to any university are autonomous and offer PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management). These programs are approved by Government accreditation bodies such as AICTE.
A PGDM Holder cannot go for PHD generally. But if the PGDM course is recognised as being equivalent to an MBA by Association of Indian Universities, then one can go for PHD as well. So that is the only difference.

The criteria keeps changing depending upon Industry Requirements. But IIM-Joka has been a college giving more weightage to CAT Score. So, try to score high %ile in CAT, at least 99.6+.

Right now you should focus on CAT Preparation. After you are done with it, you can focus on the conversion part. All the Best.. !!

I am an aspirant of CAT 2012... Here goes my acad details
X -- 86.5 % (State board)
XII -- 95.1% (State board)
Graduation -- 7.56 (CGPA) ( Mechanical ) ( S.V. University)
Work Exp -- 13 months till date in a reputed IT company..
My dream is to study in one of the top MBA colleges in INDIA not necessarily IIMs.. and i am striving hard for it ...
Last time i got 91.6% in CAT and i got calls from all six new IIMs and Indore (being a OBC canditate) without any preparation..
Regarding my career, i want to work in the field which really relates to my graduation i.e Mechanical Engineering..
But as i have already started my career in IT , would i be facing any troubles facing the interview panel, because this is my greatest concern..
I am interested in supply chain management, operations.. Please provide me with the information about the best b-schools in India including IIMs where i can get a quality specialisation and can provide me a nice platform..
I have heard about NITTIE... Please provide me names of any other colleges and entrance exams...

if your interest really lies in operations with reference to your engineering background... NITIE would be the best choice... apart from NITIE, you have IIT's too, embarking renowned courses on operations....
as far as the IT part is considered, you would be surely facing trouble during PI's... but this trouble would be to test you up... don't count drawbacks of IT industry during your PI's instead count on the better opportunity you can have if you switch your industry.... be prepared with facts and figures on the same and outcome will be nice enough.... ATB...
