Thanks Kunal , u told us the probable subjects.. but one more thing that I wanna know is that , will we be provided any kinda counselling for choosing the subjects for orientation, as one shld chosse the subjects one has little liitle knowledge abt, right? and pls tell me how much more time will FORE people take to inform abt the dates of joining, hostels, dress code and subjects for orientation

Offcourse kaushal, i wud advice u to choose those subjects only in which u think u r weak. All these subjects will play a big part throughout yr first year.:) But i m sorry to say dat there wud b no councellin of any sort. U wud b given a form wid yr final letter dat is awaited by u all. N u wud just b told to fill in your choices...dats all the councellin u gonna reciev frm the colleg Dats why v r here to tell u guys as much as possible....the new buildin for the FORE Hostel is bein finalized. Probably dats why the delay in the letter is happenin. But as i told u all b4, the date of joinin wud b the monday which falls around june 15th....not b4 dat...so chill till den u hav a lot of time abhi

look yaar, its confusin i kno, but the facts remain facts, n u kno like that rahul dravid add, "advice to sab dete hain, point is who u take it frm"....askin the right ppl for yor querry is very imp.
i m honestly tellin u, ppl who r not aware of the current status of FORE n TAPMI, includin ppl sittin in coachin institutes, can misdirect u easily....
so wat i m sayin is...b4 askin ppl abt their suggestions, judge whether they r the right ppl to giv u advice....den follow the majority.
Even better wud b, if u can get in touch wid ne of TAPMI's present students, at a level in which he/she can giv u an unbiased opinion abt the present status n expected future of the institute...den make an informed decision.... All the best !!

Hey Kaushal1, great to see your interest in academics even before joining..... Neways, you will be sent an entire document specifying date of joining,dress code, hostel facility,and surely, the subjects for orientation and a brief on the areas covered under them ,before may ends. However, no official counselling is provided but, in my case, they did. I was confused between choosing one of the three subjects, so they asked me to meet the Program Director, he gave me useful insights.He also said that I can attend the classes of remaning two subjects after seeking permission from those teachers - attendance free sitting !! However, in those two subjects, the reading material provided by college will not be available , but in case you want, you can get it photostated....... Nemore queries, feel free to post........in Fore, senoirs are more than helpful!!

As i told u guys b4 also....ther cud b dis delay coz the hostel is shiftin frm its present location....the place is bein finalized....dey hav to estimate the cost n al coz they r gonna quote dat to u....so wud b takin som time in dat....so dnt worry abt dat coz the letters wud b reachin u guys soon.... n plzz yaar if u wanna call the colleg, which has made its name in the corporate world as one of the top B-Schools of the country n most importantly the one which is gonna b your guide to a better future, a non serious organization den i think dat shows a lack of your trust in the same....n u shud reconsider your joinin the institute..:lookroun:

Also u have never given a clear statement regarding the cause of delay....u have been using words like "may be" ,"cud be". How can any one be sure of ur statements: . Wat u say might be the cause or might not be.....In corporate world one needs definite timelines and thats wat we are looking forward to be a part of.
So I again request anybdoy who clearly knows the cause of delay to pls enlighten us all. I am so pressed to know the exact dates bcos i have some imp assignments during that period and i need to plan accordingly.

Firstly, please understand one thing....things arent as easy to say or predict...i said 'cud b' coz u wud hav called the colleg office yorself...if they r nt willin to tell u the exact things, then how can we?? :wow:
Secondly, as for the preparedness of the organization....U r so dissapointed or shocked may b coz u expect a lot frm the institute u r goin in....its but obvious....but the real things(misc issues....say, bureaucracy, flow of information, the actual and virtual decision makers etc.)... u get to kno wen u actually get into the institute. U can never kno wat cud b the exact reason for a particular delay, u can only make a guess of whose probability of bein right is the highest.....N believ me, its the situation wid majority of the B-Schools (Public or Private) U wud hav seen the results of private B-Schools bein delayed....do u expect them to tell u the truth abt those delay??
Thirdly, As for the institute's stature in itself....if u r a serious MBA aspirant....u wud kno wat is n how big is FORE as an MBA institute at all India level...:)
Fourthly, If u wanna go into any B-school, wether FORE or not, keep these things in mind, coz they r gonna help u.

Also lets be realistic. U keep repeating that FORE is a TOP college in all ur posts(even though i have never intended to discuss the matter). I understand that FORE is a good college but far from being in the top 10 if we take into account colleges all over India. It has its own limitations. (One can find data from n number of websites, cousellors and coaching institues to reinforce the fact.) I am a serious aspirant and thats why i know this. Any informed person would.

An institute is a top institute wen it gives u good facilities n environment, quality of studies n competition, a gr8 faculty n most importantly, fantastic placement... u judge the institute on these lines....not by just the rankings given in the news papers, magazines or coachin institute recommendations. In short, an institute is a top institute if u aspire to b in it with a guarantee of gainin knowledge n gettin a gud job after graduation...

Do u think dat those people go judgin each n every B-School n give u a fair result at the End?? Think again future MBA!!!....there is mor than wat meets the eye....
Accordin to different magazines (at som point of time in the recent past)....FORE, KJ Somaiya, Welingkar, n even ICFAI Hyderabad wer under top 10-12 institutes of the country...wher as we all kno wats the truth.
Different B-Schools, firstly, choose to participate in a survey or not....secondly there r always other ways to get yr colleg to b ranked higher than the others...
There r misc reasons for n ways of manipulation.....i guess u understand n most importantly....i m not tryin to hav the last laugh or tryin to fight wid u, but its really important for u to understand all the factors influencin yor prime argument or facts...

1.) Came to know of some exchage program at FORE (international tie-ups with Rennes International Business School in France 2004). Does such a program still exists. If not, why was it discotinuedd. If yes, then wats the criteria to be a part of it.
2.) How does FORE arrange summer placements. Wats the duration of this internship. Also how much on avg can one expect to earn in those months(now dnt call me greedy.....:))
3.) Any updates on the new campus. When will it become functional. Looking forward to it eagerly..

About the summers,
Different companies visit the campus anytime b/w (as soon as) august to march, wid different job profiles and monthly stipends. Minimum duration shud b 6 weeks, maximum is upto u n the terms and conditions of the company recruitin u. Usually ppl do their summers for 6 to 8 weeks... U can also choose to work in mor than one company....if u hav the resoursces to do dat.. Usually ther is no fixed stipends, som ppl dont get n e stipend, this year....max stipend went upto 15K to 20K per month. But never bother abt the stipend, its the work profile that is the most important

Yes u heard it right....FORE does hav an xchange program wid Rennes International Business School in France ....students are voluntarily allowed to study one trim in dat School in the second year...they can choose between two trims....first one is from september to december, n the second one is frm January to may.....4 students are allowed to go in anyone of the trims ( wid no repetitions )...flight tickets, lodgin n boardin is bared by the student, while no tuition fees is to b paid ther....only the regular fees to FORE is paid. 😃

Ther is no particular information as to wen the coleg wud shift to the new campus..again.....nothin official ....may b ther u wont get the priviledge of yor second year also
