Yes u heard it right....FORE does hav an xchange program wid Rennes International Business School in France ....students are voluntarily allowed to study one trim in dat School in the second year...they can choose between two trims....first one is from september to december, n the second one is frm January to may.....4 students are allowed to go in anyone of the trims ( wid no repetitions )...flight tickets, lodgin n boardin is bared by the student, while no tuition fees is to b paid ther....only the regular fees to FORE is paid. :)
Hi, thanks for the info...Whats the cost incurred in tickets, lodgings, etc. Just want a rough idea. It seems the students are not opting for the same. They did it last in 2004. Why so. Isnt it worth. Doesnt it give one advantage at the time of placements. Does the college helps in procuring the VISA and other formalities or one has to manage all on his own.
Got a letter from FORE confirming classes will begin from 15th June, 2007. We need to wear fromal dress for the entire orientation program of 2 weeks(white shirt and dark grey trouser). Five subjects out of which three needs to be opted for orientation: Management Accounting Introduction to Information Technology Basic Economics Basic Mathematics Business Communication(Oral and Written)

2) someone on this thread told me that we can also attend the classes of the subjects that we dont choose for orienatstion ofcourse widthe due permission of the respective faculty , but we ll hv to get the subject material xeroxed at our own cost .., so wats the procedure n whom shld we talk regarding this n wen ..
3)the above person also told me that we can meet the program director for useful insights for choosing the orientation subjects.. again wats the procdure??..
4) and no date has been told for the the submission of orintation subjects form , as I ll take some time to decide so how late that can be..
5) does the hostel have any laundry facilities also , n is that at any extra cost ??..
6) no mention of the afternoon meal was there in the letter we people hav got ...whys that so , only breakfast and dinner was mentioned..

Regds,
Sorry guys, i was out of the PG world for a while. I was out of station and then had to move to a different place, so no net there
Samta, The trip can cost u as much as 2 lakhs....though depends upon yr accomodations π but do consider an expenditure of this much atleast, includin everythin. Its tru that Students dont usually opt for it. May b due to financial constraints. Abt the help in placements, companies that com to campus for placements select those ppl who hav the required knowledge n skills......the study tour can only add a feather in the cap but is not that big an EDGE... Abt the VISA n all i hav no idea....??: u can contact the management for the same wen the time comes π

Hey kaushal,
Sory for the late reply....i'll try my best to clear yor doubts,
1) Abt Orientation subjects: if u r comfortable in basic accountin, may b u dnt need to take accounts, but if u intend to xpertiz in finance later, u shud take it up.....as for IT may b u wil find it a little too BASIC...so u can drop that. Take yr time to decide. Select firstly yr weakest subject, n den go for yr specialization ones, n remeber, orientation subjects tell u the very basic of everythin so keep that in mind while selectin the subjects.
2) Yes if u get the permission frm the respectiv faculty, u can sit thru the other classes as well. U will hav to get the material xeroxd...ther is no official procedure for the same. Talk to the respectiv ppl...thats it
3)the above person also told me that we can meet the program director for useful insights for choosing the orientation subjects.. again wats the procdure??..
4) and no date has been told for the the submission of orintation subjects form , as I ll take some time to decide so how late that can be..
3) Yes u can meet the program director for som help....again no official procedure....just go ahead n talk to him wen he is free.
4) If last date is not given as of now.....then it may b that it wud b told 2 u later....:) dnt take a hell lota time to decide on dem coz, i told u b4 also, they r not dat much in detail.
5) does the hostel have any laundry facilities also , n is that at any extra cost ??..
6) no mention of the afternoon meal was there in the letter we people hav got ...whys that so , only breakfast and dinner was mentioned..

5) The old hostel dint hav the laundry facility included in the fees. u also wont hav that as a part of the pakage but definately u wil hav som facility in the new hostel.
6) Usually in the afternoon u wud b in the colleg so afternoon meals u gonna hav in the colleg only. Ther is the coleg canteen n also the dhabas outside :)
thanks a lot , I know the questions were too many, but ur replies were satisfactory.. as far as the orientataion subj are concerned, I m goin for accounts, economics and maths, coz, they have nothing extra from what I already know, and I believe that I m not that bad in communication.. still pls tell me that m making the right choice? c ya at FORE..:)
Due to some prior work commitments I wont be able to join on 15th. What shall i do:(.
Whom shall i communicate my limitations. Will there be any issues if i delay my joining by one day. Can some one on by behalf(parents) deposit my fees and complete other formalities.
Wud it be safe to seek prior permission and what are the chances of getting the same. Or shall i straight away report on 16th.

Regds,
Contact the management ASAP. I dnt think they wud hav any problems if u r absent on d first day til u giv dem a valid reason. yr parents can deposit the fees on yr behalf. The imp thing is dat u reciev yr orientation subjects material ther...n som formalities of registration are carried out. No major thing wud happen on the first day, but make sure dat u take care of things in advance...:)
