and one more thing is it true that the course was once started and stopped due to lack of placements and faculty................and would the faculty of this international busin course be the same as thePGDBM course of fore

i want to know about the internatinal business course at fore but the problem is that this would the first batch for this particular course.So is it advisable to take up this course keeping in mind the reputation of the bschool, would the reputation of the bschool translate to this course
please advise

Too many queries n all hav just one common answer.....i.e....."only time will tell"....

Look at the situation objectively, firstly, know what u want n then judge what u can achiev.....For a course like IB or FT; if u can get thru an IIFT, go for it. Chuck all other B -Schools...

But the real question is that can u achiev that goal??

Then the question is that.....wud u go for the colleg name, or your choice of field??
Stickin to the field of your interest; After IIFT, ther is SIIB, IMT n now IMI for the similar kinda course...bigger the college name better is the speed of development of the course.
So, the answer to your queries is, if u intend to specializ in IB n u not getin thru any of the above B-Schools (keepin in mind that this is just the first batch), go for the course in FORE. 😃 (at least u will hav the colleg name attached)

would the coll bring in the same kind of opportunity and companies for the campus placement and would the course be recognised by the industry immediately even though mine would be the first batch.....i am really concerned bout placement that would take place after 2 yrs

Ther is always the worry of the VERY IMPORTANT PLACEMENTS , not a question about it!!! Here i can only say that the college is gonna provide placement opportunity, may b not as big as PGDBM but definately, assistance would b provided...n remember that IB in FORE is just a class of 60 ppl, it wud b far mor easier (n competition wud b lower) to place them wen compared to the 150 ppl of PGDBM 😃

Thank you so much for the excellent piece od advice..............i just want to know how did u know tat there would be 60 students......and if u have any knowledge abt the faculty can tell that also...whether the faculty would be common or not

U r always welcome for the same :)

Regardin the faculty, IB n regular BA r not all dat diferent, u will hav som peculiar subjects which wud require som permanent n visitin faculty...FORE might hav made arrangement for the same....though for the comon subjects, FORE faculty may suffice...These are internal details, we can only speculate, nothin can b known exactly....

N wen v questioned the management regardin IB, they only told us that the batch wud b of 60 ppl...so dnt worry abt dat

Just wanted to know from guys already at FORE abt this new course though i know it will be hard for u guys to tell anything but just wanted to know if its a wise Idea to go for it i mean i just missed the normal call by a minimal .8 percentile stuck wid 89.2 with a year work ex...but iam realy interested in IB considering the gaining importance of globalization...also becausei think two year hence good placement for a batch of 60 wouldnt be a problem...so shd i give CAT another shot or go ahead wid this if at all i get it...just want sm opinions...thanx in advance!!

It is really upto u my friend...go thru the posts above....else than that, i cant tell u nethin extra as far as IB is concerned...as for goin for CAT is concerned....u just hav a years work-ex....that doesnt count much...i think if dis time u made a 89.2%ile....next year u can surely do much better...i think u shud giv CAT another shot...:)

okay, I wanted to know that will there be any classes on the first day n can we join the hostel a day or two before , Like I l b comin to delhi on 13th to check the hostel facilities, so I wld like to join the hostel on that day itself or on 14 th.. so will I be allowed to...

but the only info provided on the website is the highest package bagged , i.e., 12 lacs
wat abt the average , median and lowest packages

I forgot to check during the GD/PI, but people tell me that FORE has quoted on the notice board the average package as 7+ lacs per annum

so is it the correct figure or a bit inflated, m talkin abt the 2007 placements

and are the 12 and 7 lac figures CTC or actual in hand packages..

N dude...u shud kno dat wen u pay the fees for FORE hostel u are payin for the whole month of June....i.e. your fees is frm June dis year to may end next year. U can occupy the hostel netime in June, even on the first date..

Your hostel is very close to the colleg, roughly 700 meters, so its possible that a bus facility wont be provided. N if ther wud b one (i really dnt kno how it wil work out!!) it wud b included in yr fees.

All salaries are CTC, non of the salaries u hear, newher, refer to the cash in hand.
as for FORE, the avg. may b a little inflated, but the highest is definately true.

Hi,

I need to clarify this placement part. The website has no where mentioned the avg. placemet figures. Acc. to 2006 figures it was 5.7. When did the 2007 placements happen. I mean the month. Also i u feel the avg figure is inflated, wats the correct figure(rough idea, as i know it wud be difficult to state the exact).

I dont understand that when the college has disclosed it 2006 figures(AICTE mandatory disclosure), why has it restrained to do so for 2007 figures though it has mentioned the highest package for 2007. Was it not worth mentioing. 😃

Firstly,ther r no 2007 figures, u'll get them after we r placed...
Secondly, about the quotin of avg. salary....at this point of time i can only tell u one thing (publically )..ther is mor to all this than simple multiplication or division of nos.....u will get to kno abt it wen u join d colleg....well watever b the issue, the avg. salary is upto yr expectations...

At this point...one can only say that..the new course is gonna b wat it can b......no1 can predict d future, but FORE wud not want its name to b stained if it cant sustain a gud course....
As for takin scores of CAT 2005, its not the first time wen a coleg has taken scores of 2 consecutive CATs (here CAT 06 n 05) for shortlistin......at the end of the day, its just a selection shortlistin process....think it in dis way that ppl who had given CAT 05 but not given CAT 06 also hav a chance at the course....
