Quick tour in the sense......

waise most of the B-schools have already started (except maybe IITs and FMS) so B-schoolers wont accomany anyway... will have to organise the trip minus B-schoolers...

i just ahd a curious ides that ..cant the trip be kind of official PG tour... maybe our PG will also help us in generating some sponsership........

and i am sure if the idea of the trip is posted on the home page of PG ..we would get many volunteers...

Mods Listening???????????

I have travelled to a few places in the Himalayan mountains( including Shimla, Narkanda, Thanedar, Shoja, Manali, Manikaran, Leh, Gulmarg, Srinagar, Chakrata,Mussorrie,Nainital, Almora, Ranikhet....). Please let me know if you guys would need ideas and we could start a vote. I guess it would take atleast a month to get the votes in and organize the meet but we must start.

Also, my vote for the favorite place goes to Ladakh (breathtaking moonscape). I am uploading some pictures I clicked on my solo trip in Sep'04 when I travelled via Manali to Ladakh and then back to Delhi via Kashmir.

I also biked from Delhi to Solang Valley(next to Manali) and back in Apr'05 and that was a memorable trip.Driving next to the Beas ws an experience I would carry with me till the very end. More on my wanderlust next time 😃

Chakrata, :)

Finally a man after my soul !!!!!

So u been to chakrata !!! can u tell trhe junta abt the place something..I am a native arnd that(For that matter i have relatives in alomost all of HP N Uttranchal's hill stations ..allof em are home to me )... area so if i tell it wud be kinda too positive..Give a tourist's view of the place..

I liked Chakrata for the view it offered. We were there for a day and a night so couldn't travel around too much but I would have loved to go to Deoband. Chakrata is ideal for people who would like to go to a place away from the hustle bustle. However, if you are going there via Dehradoon and Yamuna bridge you would have to watch out for the timings as Army controls the one way traffic.

If we had more time we would have travelled further north towards yamunotri/gangotri but maybe next time 😃

Hey i have lots n lots to share. When i was in college i went to a lot of adventure trips... The most adventorous trip was Kodachadri. We Climbed 12 kms n reached the crest which is the highest peak in western ghats and u cud see the clouds below the peak and the sunset was the most photogenic.
Moreover we stayed their for the entire nite and cooked food fr ourselves with wet woods. The night sky was full of stars n nothing else. A glimpse of heaven.

Next, i also went to jog falls at a time when water wasnt that much. The water falling from the highest falls in india was just as if slapping on our backs. Pineapples and noodles were really a nice treat.

Then my trip to Murudeshwar were really sweet. The tall Shiva statue is mesmerising. And the motor boat ride in the depths of sea was nerve wracking. Then the serene walking on the railway track across murudeshwar station was really something we cherish to do.

The trip of madikeri was really horrifying. Specially when u come to know a boy has just drowned. But what can stop pagal souls... It was again a nice retreat n the cold chilly waters really cool your heads.

The trip to Sringeri was again a quite but nice affair. The temple and the monastery were worth visiting. And a special lake that is full of large fishes and no body can catch them. They are just to be fed. Kewl.

The trip to Dharamsthala from Mangalore on bike was the best experience. Specially when u dont know the way. And probably u drive a bike when u dont know to drive. And there's a very big and palatial temple that falls on the way is a treat to eyes.

Then the Kollur temple called Mokambika is again worth a nice trip.

Thats all.. Hey now wake up.

dude where did u do ur engg ... cuz u hv bn to most of the places i hv bn ... i think u forgot kudremukh ... or u surely missed that place in ur list by the way i am from the Mighty Mighty MIT from Manipal ... Kodachadri i have benn ther 3 -4 times its heaven i have trekked in the night it was amazing finding the way thru the jungles at night with only a light on the peak of the mountain from guest house ... and how could i forget agumbe n kudremukh ... i have lost count after 15 th time its just heaven for guys livin in concrete jungles ...

tashi - luck , jong - place
it's quite picturesque

ppl

Can sm of u temme which are the best beaches outta India...
smwhere in/around Europe...
need this info lil urgently...

You could start with the French Riviera ( inc. Monaco) and explore the mediterranean..here is a weblink for more information..a lot would depend on what you plan to do but if you would like to party you must visit Ibiza which is a spanish island and has the best night life..Some of the world's most happening night clubs and pubs are in ibiza.Italy and Greece have some beautiful beaches on the meditteranean..not to forget the island nation of cyprus...I guess if you google for any of these places you would get loads of information..happy travelling

Hey Vipin thanx..jus wanned to know one more thing ....are like these regions esp.the one in the Mediterranean rim...vulnerable...or is their some terrorist threat in these regions...if u know of some pls outline...

My guess would be that you should avoid countries which supported Iraq war as the terrorists would probably aim at only those countries for the sake of anti Iraq propaganda( Italy, Spain come to my mind). Also avoid Northern African countries like Egypt as the recent attack at Sharm-el-shaikh in Egypt would take some time to get out of tourists minds. More than direct threat I would be worried about the environment at these places since some of these places would have an uneasy feel to them.

Let me add though that more people die and get injured on the roads than from terrorist attacks so you shouldn't worry too much about 'em.

oh Vipin that ws well said what ya say abt Israel..?
Is that as vulnerable...particularly as the Isra-palest...thing doesn seem to be taking a backseat...

i ask that because i may have to go ti Israel for a week this month...so am a bit skeptical abt it...it would be a part of my Mediterranean visit
