Like I said you shouldn't worry..althought stay away from crowded places as far as possible(potential targets)..I believe that Jerusalem and a few other cities in and around the west bank and gaza strip are potential trouble spots but rest of the israel should be safe (just like when there was the deluge in Mumbai, Delhi was safe and someone in US sent us a sympathy note thinking that we are also marooned)...so depends on where exactly you would be going..I am sure a week would be spent in a jiffy..I wouldn't recommend travelling into the tense parts of the city though..every city would have some spots like that so you should speak to the hotel staff and if you are going on an official visit speak to your colleagues at the office there..a lot of safety is simple common sense so pack loads of it as that would be your best friend in case of any trouble.

As long as you keep your eyes and ear open you would be OK and that applies for the roads as well 😃 Don't miss the opportunity !
Finally a man after my soul !!!!!

Here guys,

Me posting some pics of Chakrata and Deovan (a small forest rest house 12 kms from Chakrata ... absolutely paradise) 😃

That was a pic of the forest guest house in Chakrata. Next to this guest house is the DFO residence (district forest residence). it was constructed in the 19th century and the forest department has maintained it excellently even today. hats off to those guys. u can magnify the pic and see the small inscription on the top which gives the construction date. i spent one night over here.....it was a truly amazing experience :):):):):):)

this is a pic of the path to a small nursery maintained by the forest deptt near chakrata. u can get all sort of ayurvedic medicines here - absolutely natural. for ex, the sap of the pine trees is used as a natural plaster in case of sprains, fractures etc. it will then "automatically" detach itself from ur body the moment the injury heals ... mother nature is truly amazing :):):):):):)

check the height of the deodar trees and notice how the sunlight penetrates through them. if u notice carefully, my sis is walking down the path at the bottom of the trees. u can get an idea of how tall these trees really are compared to a normal person :wow::wow::wow:

now this is a pic i took while trekking from the nursery to deovan. really really really beautiful walk. mazaa aa gayaa :):):):):)

this sis the small guest house at deovan. they sometimes train the counter intelligence ppl, the tibetan army, RAW, etc over here :):):):):):)

no water, no electricity .... a truly wonderful stay. for breakfast the next morning, the local gujjar folk gave us some fresh butter...yummy :):):):)

this si a view of vyas shikhar, the highest point in the region.

sunrise as see from vyas shikhar . the sun is rising from just behind the banderpoonch peak (monkey's tail) :). it is right above yamunotri and is the place from which yamuna originates.....

this pic was taken while i was walking from deovan to kanasar. the himalayas were truly majestic. even if i sit and watch them for a 100 yrs i guess i will not be bored :):):)

but it was very difficult to capture them o a camera .

Coming to south india, this is an early morning pic from the botanical gardens in ooty....another good place

this is a pic of a monkey puzzle tree that i found in ooty ... it'c called a "monkey puzzle" coz monkeys can't climb it :wow:

this is a very beautiful meadow near ooty...the pic doesn't do full justice to this place. a must see for ppl going to ooty. it was on the way to madumalai wildlife sanctuary

tea gardens near ooty....

the morning fog at kodaikanal.....

u can take cycle rides around the kodai lake...we guys managed 2 rounds of the lake. tiring but fun. here is a pic of us guys after cycling....we tried our best not to look exhausted :):):):):)

You have captured some really pretty pictures and what is even more refreshing is your spirit to share so many pictures with us with comments..shows your passion "to share memories"

I wish this planet had more people like you who see so much and so share so much :)

I read this somewhere and it seems to be true of all avid travellers like us ; A famous politician used to say I am like an avid traveller who saw more than he could remember and a traveller who remembers more than what he saw.

I use the MS office Picture Manager and I can compress pictures for a document or a website or an email ( to upto 2 KB) just by chosing a radio button and clicking OK.

I guess this thing comes along with MS office 2003 version.

another pic we took while trekking near kodai ... 😃
