Hi friend...
There are 2 main things :
First, I am really wondering why do you want to do some certification when you are already doing degree. Are you an expert/topper in your domain? I mean, just be an expert in the field which you chose and is going to shape your career and life.Look,em not critical or opposing you. Just putting my viewpoint. You have to take decision seeing your situation.
Second, Choice of certification depends what type of job you want to do after graduation...
If computer/IT : Furnish your C,C++ and Java(in much demand)
Networking : Basic knowledge of computer,Networks, CCNA.
Communication : you need to know about GSM,CDMA,3G(Roll-out has just began in india),4G(Western countries are working on it)
Electrical : not much aware of it.
If you wanna go for MBA/M.Tech :
Depending on your choice you need to go for it.
Did anyone gave APICS CPIM. please let me know if anybody has given the same

I wanted to leave this IT industry and work in Banking Industry. Kindly let me know any Certification/Diploma courses, attaining which i can get direct recruits in the BAnking/Finance Industry. I know 1 Yr MBA is an option but i cant leave job due to financial matters.
So please advie me some Diploma/Certifation courses, completing which i can be directly employed in Banking/Finance Industry.

ankursar,
Since you already have a finance certification, you can now try looking at Hughes as an option. Hughes offers online/campus mode MBAs from IIMs and IITs after completion of which you will be granted IIM/IIT alumni status. There are some good financial management PG courses available. Try looking at them while doing your job. Since these courses are not distance/correspondence but online/campus, they are pretty well recognised by industry standards.

mohit_1598,
You are still young and have enough time. It is good that you are already on your toes and all set to lay foundation for a good future ahead. I'd suggest just concentrate on your studies, attempt for CAT in 3rd year, if it doesnt click then again prepare the following year. You do not need profile enhancement to get into IIMs, but yes, if you want to build a good overall profile right from the start, and eyeing GMAT as an option, then understand the fact that you'll also have to
show some exemplary workexp worth 3-5 years post your engg.So more time in this case. So you have 2 career paths.
In either case, you can, as for now, concentrate and try to get involved in social volunteering activities, and try participating in college symposiums. If you get any event organizing chance anywhere in college or outside, take it up.
All the best!

Thanks tanmoy.....I have a belief that MBA courses are beneficial when you r doing it regular...as then only the institute provides you the placement....but if u do some other way like correspondence/part time/online...the institute doesnt provide any placement...please let me know if my thinking is wrong...or Is Hughes provide placement after completing PG courses ?..also if any other institute providers good placement after completing Pg courses by other then regular way...?
ankursar,
You are absolutely correct. In your case, its actually a bit dicey. Since you cant leave your job, I suggested you the best alternative to a regular MBA.
MBA - once does mostly only once in life, a good one, and a regular one, as you said.
But Hughes is a way bit better than distance courses like ICFAI,SCDL..etc. But again it wont give you recognition that a regular MBA carrries. An MBA means campus, without campus, its not valued much. But the advantage with Hughes is that, it is partly online and partly campus mode, which gives 30%, then the IIM/IIT name which carries another 30%. However, the total is still 60%. A good regular program is worth 100%. But for that, you need to sacrifice your job. Now you will be able to better weigh the factors. Another similar vendor is the NIIT Imperia -IIM C program. You would know about the Wipro-BITS Pilani MS program. So you get me now how these are different from the usual distance courses? Basically these wont provide placement as regular courses, (might be placement assistance) but its a good learning and good recognition, far more than typical distance/correspondence management courses.Another advantage is the networking you get once you visit the elite campuses, and then the exposure through some fieldwork and transparency through some one-on-one online professor lectures. This is how these come close to the real regular MBA exposure.
I myself am gonna resign job this year (after a 4+) and join AIM Manila for my MBA.
All the best. If you can afford a regular one, go for it. Else, these are good enough alternatives. But , I'd suggest dont enrol in any conventional distance courses.
Under the sun, for any course, around the globe, THERE CAN NEVER BE A SUBSTITUTE TO A PROGRAM IN REGULAR MODE...:) (other options can only be near or far to it)
