hi there,
i am doing computer engg.(final year) and placed in iflex(will be joining next yr) , iflex mainly works in finance domain, particularly banking software,so is it advisable for me to go for any of these NCFM certifications? or are there any banking certifications available apart from these?
thanks

Go for NCFM, it helps---site itself has lot of info. also if u are planning for BFSI domain splzn, gradually enrol in US-CFA or ICFAI MS-fin. will be a winning combination. requires hard work to finish btw.

In due course (3 yrs or so) opt for MBA-fin from a gud school; FT or PT depending on your professional/personal preferences.

IFLEX work in banking domain.....NCFM certiifcations r only for Finance ppl..with no emphasis on Banking..
Dont worry coz beofre alloting a project u would be given adequate domain trng.....
IFLEX has thr own progs. for Domain knowledge..like FFP(Foundation Finance Program)..

thanks bizskool and anurag!!

Thanks for the information guys .. visited all the mentioned websites... could someone plz tell me if there are any cheaper certification programs for students in operations / six sigma ?

Additionally how much value does a certification add as far as placements are concerned?

Also since there are a host of foreign organisations offering six sigma certification, does the reputatation of these organisations matter?

Hi All

So far in this thread certifications pertaining to the domain have been discussed. Can anybody throw light on certifications in SAS and Data Warehousing. I guess these areas are really coming up and one needs to have to look at them.

A business analyst is a techno-functional role and hence I feel technical certifications may also be useful.

Can anybody throw light on the tools and technologies which a business analyst should equip himself with.

Can somebody please throw light on the materials required for getting a SAS certification

Regards
Prashanth

NSE-NCFM wont help. Try enrolling in to CFA (AIMR-USA) or go for MBA-FT with finance splzn in a good school.

If u want to make a career in finance, thn CFA (AIMR) is the best thing to enrol for. The certification is real good nd has a gr8 global recognition. U need only have a 3-yr grad degree to appear for d level exams, though to get d charter , u need to hav 4 yrs of relevant exp. But, even without d charter, each of d levels ( thr r a total of 3 ) add a lot of value to one's profile. To know more, chk out CFA Institute Home

Hi All,

I am looking for some kind of a certification in strategy.

Does anyone have any idea if any certification for strategy is provided by any renowned body.

hey PuYs....
i have made up my mind :satisfie: 2 go 4 NCFM progs.....

some1 who has appeared for their exams ....it'd be great if u give a li'l overview of the process:the registration, the fees & most importantly the books/material...etc..

& ya...one Q i wanted 2 ask 2 senior ppl in IT industry.....

can i get into 'business analyst' route by doing these certifications....
i mean more on the business side of the project rather than plain coding....

if not what is the other way to do that....

wud be really gr8ful if some1 takes the pains to answer above queries:)

No, these certifications are basic and only value add. they are not counted as qualifications for business analyst. they will not impart business/domain knowledge on finance or markets.
